Re Van De Venn I'm not sure id prioritise him. Likewise players don't become shite over night, it's more nuanced than that.

They signed Nico Gonzalez for £65m in 2025 January window just because Rodri got injured, he wasn’t good enough, and they binned him. They signed Reijnders last summer for £70m, used him for a few games, he wasn’t good enough, they binned him instantly. Now they’re about to sign Elliot Anderson for £100m. That’s close to £250m spent on a single position in the space of a year, no other club has that kind of financial luxury. This is what Arsenal are up against, financial cheats with endless pool of blood money. All their trophies are asterisked in my eyes.

@Povey34 I agree. 2 of that 3 would be great. All three would be ideal it cannot see it happening. Baleba and one other I think it will be.

The more I watch Mateus Fernandes the more I think it makes sense to get him over Anderson and save £50m+ Fernandes, Baleba and Scott would be ace imo.

@93rdmin Maguire on started 18 pl games this season. Very injury prone also which is rarely mentioned

@turnerdp70 Agree, Would make more sense and give us much more freedom on other players. I think CB wasn't an issue for me but the injury issues with Martinez and DeLigt really worry me.

@jabbathesutt @93rdmin How disciplined he was in the 6 role and he was very good overall. Strong, mobile, fast. Scott last night looked good but I was underwhelmed a bit. So it'd be Baleba and Fernandes based on my extensive scouting!

@jabbathesutt @93rdmin I "scouted" this week 3 midfield targets,as in watched them on tv! Fernandes really impressed me. Baleba surprised me as in 1/2

He absolutely should but on the basis I just don’t think it’s realistic to expect to sign 3 centre mids in one window, don’t be surprised if he stays for another year
