Just hours away from Nowruz — Persian new year — a new round of explosions is shaking Tehran.

@ItbeCan @bob_esfanji1 @snipergurg Some monarchist diaspora Iranians live in countries where minorities have certain linguistic/cultural rights and these countries are the most stable in the world. But when you say you want a system like that Iran, they freak out and start yelling at Kurds calling them seperatists

@ItbeCan @bob_esfanji1 @snipergurg Also, if most Kurds want to secede than it’s probably because they’ve had negative experiences with the central govts in Iran. Adopting a education systems like Spain, UK, or Belgium where regional languages are allowed could easily solve this problem

@ItbeCan @bob_esfanji1 Yeah. Twitter is not the best platform when it comes to gauging moderate views. It’s mostly the extremes and fringes.

@bob_esfanji1 @turtlebro89 I could say the same thing about the Kurds on here, but I choose to assume that it’s because they’re the ones more vocal online. I see the same types of comments in both groups

@ItbeCan @bob_esfanji1 Some Kurds are probably aligning with MEK because they distrust Pahlavi, and I can’t blame them. They didn’t have linguistic or cultural rights under the Shah. And MEK is lying to them saying they’ll grant them autonomy.

@turtlebro89 @bob_esfanji1 On the other hand. I’m seeing a lot of Mojahedin in Kurdish groups to the point where they’re starting to sound like the regime itself. And all the reformists are constantly on most US news. It’s just CBS that’s on Iranians’ side

@ItbeCan @bob_esfanji1 This makes me feel so much better lol. My mom has some monarchist friends and none of them are fascist or violent. But when you go on this platform, it’s like every person you see with “Javid Shah” in their bio has tweets that are border line Nazi.

@turtlebro89 @bob_esfanji1 They are. The LA rally on valentines day, most people didn’t really care about the rest of the family or a monarchy. The vast majority of flags were the lion and sun one without a crown. It’s more about unifying, rather than a monarchy

@bob_esfanji1 I’m really hoping those types of people are in the minority. If ethnic fascists like those come to power, the country is 10x more likely to descend into civil war.

@bob_esfanji1 Yeah there’s definitely a portion of monarchists that are fascist and crazy, especially on this platform. But I’ve also met a lot IRL that are pretty liberal and psychologically normal, so my hope is that they’re the silent majority.

Never understood this argument. Islam was in Iran for 1400 years that means WE HAVE TO KEEP IT? Before that was their Islam? Can societies not progress and culture shifts as people evolve? The same way Islam came it can leave and there will be a future 1400 year of no Islam
Rostam@rostam_pechorin

No one is ever upset with you for celebrating pre Islamic Iranian traditions. Every single one of us is celebrating Charshambe Suri tonight, we will all celebrate Nowruz at the end of the week. This has never been a problem. The problem is people who try to deny the past 1400 years of Iranian history and culture because they're insecure about our modern culture, and that it is Islamic.

It’s ironic that Persians once mocked Kurds as “fire worshippers,” using it as an insult. Now those same people turn around and claim that culture as “Iranian.” This pattern isn’t new. Kurdish traditions are constantly stolen, repackaged, and relabeled as Persian or Iranian. Chwarshama Suri, including the tradition of jumping over bonfires, has always been Kurdish. No matter how much they try to steal it or claim it as Persian, it will never lose its Kurdish roots.
Reza Pahlavi Communications@PahlaviComms

Following Prince Reza Pahlavi’s statement emphasizing the importance of Chaharshanbe Suri, Iranians in Mashhad celebrate by singing the patriotic anthem “Ey Iran.”

@alexshams_ I read the essay and I don’t think it addresses much. I was also opposed to bombing, but pretending that opposition groups inside Iran have made any progress in the past 47 years is a fantasy.

@Saffronbrun3tt3 Extremist Soranis feel entitled to massacre any Kurd that opposes the establishment of a fascist Sorani ethno state. They silence anyone who opposes their agenda and call Iranian Kurds Jash for not supporting them.

@godisarobyn @bob_esfanji1 My mom’s family are Lurs and they see themselves as a distinct group but they also consider Kurds to be very close kin. But they also see Persians as close kin too, so I think they’re kind of something in between.

@turtlebro89 @bob_esfanji1 I don't know why they can't acknowledge that this is a real issue instead of defending this type of fascist mentality. At the end of the day each group of people should be respected and not erased. I've even seen some Sorani Kurds claim that Lurs are Kurdi which is Insane
