@jimsciutto Everyone I know who stayed up to date on their jabs got Covid much more often than I did. I got it once. Most of them have gotten it 4-6 times. As for your data, you remember what Twain said about statistics, don't you?

New: Covid-19 vaccines roughly halved the chances a US adult would need to visit the ER or be hospitalized with their infections last fall and winter, according to two sources familiar with the findings of a new study. But you won’t hear about it from the agency that led the research: the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The current head of the CDC, Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, who’s also director of the US National Institutes of Health, blocked the publication of those findings in the CDC’s flagship journal, the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, according to the sources. cnn.com/2026/04/22/hea…

@trishorwen @DonEford That poor baby. I dont understand the socialization excuse. My 5 year old makes friends basically everywhere we go and goes to guides every week. She just wears a mask while doing it.

My neighbour’s 3yo has heart damage caused by Covid. Both parents acknowledge that the virus is to blame for their child’s condition, yet they refuse to protect her, citing the importance of socialization. Shortly after her 4th Covid infection, the child was hospitalized.

@ewdaisyrose @Spl0dz @maolesen @angryvet34 Agreed. We should have updated our air systems for sure. Clean air is very important. But herd immunity isnt possible with covid. It mutated too fast. A neutralizing vaccine is probably the only way or everyone masks for real until cases are low enough.

@turtleyturtle18 @Spl0dz @maolesen @angryvet34 It’s reality. We had possibly one shot at herd immunity with COVID and the antivaxxers ruined it. So, now it’s going to keep mutating and people need updates, as with the flu. Everyone should have updated their building air systems as well.

In cases like this, the government should remove the kids from this home and the parents charged with child endangerment.

@DonEford @JReinerMD And that is just a 50% reduction in severe cases. That isnt even reducing transmission. It might as well be a participation award.

I don't know how many times I have to say this. Speaking as a pro-COVID vaccine advocate. This is horrible protection, and it's obscene that you are saying these are good results. Only someone who minimizes the risk of COVID and Lc and doesn't care about the 50% it doesn't protect would think this is good. Especially when we have a better vaccine with higher protection, but you all are silent about it. The hypocrisy is still the loudest part.

Acting CDC Dir Jay Bhattacharya has delayed the publication of a report showing that last winter COVID-19 vaccines provided significant protection, cutting the risk of severe disease leading to hospitalization by about 50%. The vaccine was the greatest achievement of Pres Trump’s 1st admin, but HHS Sec Kennedy has alleged that it’s the deadliest vaccine ever made. The president should brag about this endlessly. It’s saved millions of lives over the last 6 years. wapo.st/4ccudpF

@heysugardumplin @envidreamz He is 10. It will likely be an autism class with integration with a mainstream class. I am gonna have him go with his usual 3m aura and try to convince the school to let me purchase air purifier/far uvc or something for the room.

@envidreamz @heysugardumplin A vaccine that works is really the only way. We have had 1 infection from my son's school. He couldn't mask at the time (autism). He is now homeschooled and Im wfh. But it is HARD mentally to always be on guard. We are having to think about him going to school next year too.

It’s not easy to stay safe. People who have families and kids can not stay safe. So many other reasons too. I want a universal vaccine. It’s our only hope. Bc only people that can stay safe is those who live alone or who have the 1 in a million covid safe partner that lives with them. Only 8% of CC have kids 6 or under. It’s truly impossible

@bfacedplague My family had covid once several years ago. My son, who has severe autism, was unable to mask at school. He was asymptomatic. My daughter too. I had cold symptoms. My husband became disabled for over a year. The acute and long term issues vary too much. The risk isnt worth it.

@bfacedplague Nobody is saying that it is killing everyone either. What covid does do is systematic damage to your body with each infection to varying degrees. What many of us cc advocate for is cleaner air for all in public spaces. Without that, masks protect people from illness.

How in the hell do you get this far from reality?
Bare-Faced Plague Spreader@bfacedplague

@turtleyturtle18 Turtles all the way down. This is the bandwagon logical fallacy in a nutshell. If there are so many studies on Covid being dangerous, it must be true. And yet, reality tells a different story. Covid was thought to be a "novel, deadly disease." The false dichotomy of lab leak/wet market origins ignores the question entirely. But all cause, excess deaths tell a different story. Two things were responsible for the the "pandemic" Propaganda+pcr testing means pandemic. 500k studies is an indicator. In legal spheres it could be considered an "orgy of evidence." Why so much evidence? Why censorship of dissenting opinions? Going from clinical to anecdotal, the answer comes up the same. There was no pandemic.

@midwestbimbo We are trying out best to prepare for supply shortages. We just resigned out electricity contract so our rate is locked in for the year, all renewable. Already wfh. Stores are all walking distance. We are already locking down our budget knowing prices are gonna soar.

@bfacedplague Who does that? Literally nobody I know that is aware of how the virus works? I havent been to a restaurant in years other than takeout because I have a basic understanding of how airborne transmission works.

@turtleyturtle18 You mean like the reality of: when you walk to a seat in a restaurant, wear a mask. When you sit down and eat, no mask required. Ah, how arbitrary and capricious reality is.

@turtleyturtle18 The virus is novel and deadly because it is the Santa Claus virus. It knows when you are sitting alone in your car...and it knows when you are inside attending a Thanksgiving dinner.

@Catinmyfamily @Biff234523 I felt the same with the trident. I tried it with the extra long straps and that was fine, but ended up going with the extra large and that is comfy. I usually wear the aura otherwise without issue. Even my son who is 10 finds the regular sized trident in black to be too tight

@Biff234523 I think you will find Laianzhi & Trident to both feel tight versus the 9210. The 9210 is my preferred mask too. L and T both look nice - and I pass a qualitative fit test in them - but they feel too tight on my face. I haven’t passed a fit test in zimi but very comfy!

The only respirator that I’ve worn for the past 3 years is the 9210+ 3M Aura. I’m planning on trying something new this spring, resulting from a combination of: - All of the tech advancements made in this space by makers over the course of the past few years - Relatively low case counts this time of year (especially how we’re trending right now - with the lowest overall numbers since 2023, but YMMV locally), so it’s a good time to experiment - My increasing confidence in my layered precautions, as I’ve only continued to learn more about URTI prophylaxis and about SARS2 - I want something that looks cool Right now, I think I’m considering: - Laianzhi HYX1002 KN100 (ombré/gradient) - Trident Project 3 FFP3 - BreatheTeq KN95 headstrap model All 3 options contain head straps, nose foam, and an aluminum nose wire, just like the Aura, which are all essentials to me at this point when it comes to a quality mask. As far as I know, the WellBefore 3D Pro is the other notable mask that would fit the bill for having those quality components, but their consistent use of GenAI in advertisements takes them off of the table for me. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?

I received a response in relation to why some people in the Long Covid community have stopped masking Stuart said “ he’s contracted cvd over ten times” since the pandemic started, even whilst masking I do hear his frustration, but makes me wonder what 😷 was he wearing?
