#Newsnight. Hi Adam, why didn't you ask the commissioner for countering extremism whether he still thinks people should not use the phrase "islamophobia"? Seems pretty pertinent just now, no?

@PaulBrandITV @itvnews This could down as the biggest own goal in election history. How could anyone think this interview was more important than D-DAY commemorations. Nigel Farage must be rubbing his hands. Unbelievable.

@BBCRadioManc Especially this bit: “The action we have taken so far follows a long-running and carefully managed investigation, and we do not believe that there is a wider risk to the public connected to this case," he said.

@BBCRadioManc This story seems to be a breach of the contempt of court act.

@GaryLineker this needs clearing up. free kick that led to Brentford's first goal yesterday and Rangers second disallowed goal today scored by Dassers. same thing happened. Different decisions. Question: player about to kick ball and kicks opponent who's suck leg in. Who gets the free kick?

@odlinz Any comments or thoughts appreciated. My DMs are open, and I always treat them in strict confidence (unless they are from libel lawyers threatening to sue me).

So Zahawi is now furiously denying allegations of tax avoidance that nobody has made:

I pay a lot of money for my Times subscription. Please could somebody at the Times please explain why this story was pulled. If it was inaccurate please could you warn fellow-journalists so that we don’t repeat your mistake.

@MichaelLCrick MailOnline rewrote the Times’ story about the proposed government job for Carrie Johnson in the early hours of Saturday morning but has since also deleted its article without explanation. News aggregation sites have also deleted their copies of the MailOnline article.

@MichaelLCrick BBC 10 o'clock news. 15mins in we get the massacre in America. Can't help thinking had the victims been white it would've been higher up the running order. 🤔

@MackemKTF @PippaCrerar Presumably he is responsible for his own actions though and he did attend some of the parties, or is that someone else's fault too?

@PippaCrerar He actually said he "had been reassured no law had been broken". At least listen to the full video, the full transcript of what he said repeatedly months ago. As you well know, he does not manage the staff or CS's. He sought assurances. It is they who may have lied. Easy really.

Surreal No 10 briefing on Downing Street parties. Boris Johnson still not accepting that 20 fines being received means that law has been broken. PM's official spox refuses to back Dominic Raab who said law *had* been broken and that PM said things in HoC that "aren't true".

@MaggyClark I think the quotes are long enough to see very clearly what she was saying. But I agree that the whole event should be made available knline, which I hope the organisers and GBNews will facilitate.
