Interesting I found Rio and Sao Paulo very safe. I have heard stories from the locals it can be a bit sus but personally I didn't encounter it. Also, agree CPF is so inhospitable looool - for example Rappi didn't require it but iFoods did and all the good stuff was on iFoods

We switched part of our billing infrastructure to Intuit Inc. (QuickBooks Payments). Within the first month: Clients paid. Revenue cleared. Funds… held. Not flagged for fraud. Not disputed. Just paused — pending identity verification that had already been completed months prior. Over the past few weeks: • 5+ hours on calls • Re-uploading documents already on file • No clear resolution path • Funds still held • Currently still on hold while writing this This isn’t a support issue. This is a systems issue inside financial infrastructure. When platforms position themselves as payment rails, reliability isn’t optional… it’s foundational. Cash flow isn’t theory. It’s oxygen.
