@drhoodscholar @PercivalPenman Therapy is unbiased. You won't feel loved, you should feel heard and validated. Anxiety, depression both things that cloud our perception so that WE navigthe world in unhealthy ways that reinforce our emotional state. Therapy should help you navigate this hate filled world 1/2

@IvanaDGreco @theselowfeet @KelseyTuoc Call you from what though? I don't know any 8 year olds with phones. I was fine leaving my oldest kids home alone at 8 when we had a landline and could check in, but how does this work now?

This is a very good essay by @KelseyTuoc on childhood independence. The fact that 1/3 of Americans think a child has to be a literal teenager before they can be left home alone for an hour is lunacy.

@Garbagestyleman @IvanaDGreco In my experience, more than 80% of calls were false reports due to family or neighbor conflict. Sadly, they have to investigate each call, each time. Incredibly inefficient

@IvanaDGreco Massive punishments/jail time for false reports. A lot of these cases are simply feuds being weaponized with "justice" rather than Hatfield/McCoy type violence.

@IvanaDGreco CPS doesn't have a standard for the age a child can b left alone unsupervised. I've approved as young a 7, while others are 15 and still not safe. The law is intentionally vague on everything that constitutes abuse or neglect. Ur depends on the child and the circumstance

As Kelsey points out, the opinions of neighbors matter because a CPS call/investigation - even if it is dismissed - is well documented by researchers to be traumatic and behavior shaping *in and of itself.* Indeed: I think a pressing questions is how to reform CPS investigations so they are better able to focus on actual child abuse/neglect and cease being used as a tool to police ordinary parenting (which distracts from their core mission). @StellaSin_ @ChrisGeorgeBerg @MedWhiteAcolyte 1 carries the risk of being cheated on (at worst) which was always a risk anyway. The other carries a risk of yourself or an innocent child being sexually violated against their will. Both worthy of redemption; very different consequences should they stumble

Before anyone tries to convince you this is a good example of redemption ask them if they would react the same if the man was a rapist or pedophile or murderer or whatever. We can tone it down to fraud, cheater, drug dealer etc. Redemption for me but not for thee.

My wife was formerly promiscuous. I was a virgin. She was then radically born-again. Committed to church, evangelized constantly, Puritan books in her bedroom, prayer journals, grief over past sexual sin, etc. We got to know each other well for over a year, dated for four months, engaged for two and a half, and didn't sin sexually with one another. Our first kiss with each other was at the altar on our wedding day (reaction pic attached!). We've been married for over five years now, and she's been the most wonderful and godly wife, mother to our three children, and homemaker you could imagine. She's more pure than most virgins, as biblical purity has less to with past sins (though they certainly matter) and more to do with one's current posture of the heart and daily decisions to honor the Lord (Matt. 5:8). We're far too quick to forget the story of the woman labeled as a known "sinner" (likely a prostitute) in Luke 7:36-50 who was washing Jesus' feet with her tears while kissing them too. The Pharisees were shocked that Jesus let a public sinner do this. Jesus responded with a parable about debts being forgiven and ended with this powerful conclusion: "Her many sins have been forgiven; that’s why she loved much. But the one who is forgiven little, loves little" (Luke 7:47). Everyone seems to highlight the benefits of virginity, and it certainly is a blessing. But we forget to highlight the benefits of being forgiven much as well. My wife knows the depths of Jesus' forgiveness more than most people, enabling her to more easily live out a life of passionate love for her Savior. A woman or man's past sexual sin matters. But what matters far more when it comes to deciding who to marry is if the person is truly born again, if their repentance is real, if they truly have a heart for Christ, if they truly follow Jesus and obey his commands. "God has chosen what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen what is weak in the world to shame the strong. God has chosen what is insignificant and despised in the world — what is viewed as nothing — to bring to nothing what is viewed as something, so that no one may boast in his presence. It is from him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became wisdom from God for us — our righteousness, sanctification, and redemption, — in order that, as it is written: 'Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.'" (1 Cor. 1:27-31) "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!" (2 Cor. 5:17)

@rosethaaartist "We next," so let's do our best to make sure the agency that will soon target us is 100% white supremacists, no need for friends and family inside, let's vilify them. That's always been a winning strategy for black progress 🙄

Black Americans are not illegal immigrants and the fact y’all falling into this “we next” bullshit is idiotic. We are CITIZENS. You cannot deport citizens. A few cases of wrongful detention doesn’t equal mass deportation. Stop letting people scare you into fighting for everyone except Black Americans.

I am tired. Tired of so called Christians acting like Christ’s redemption isn’t enough. Acting like we need to earn his forgiveness. Acting like his mercies aren’t new every morning. Acting like you’re better than someone just because you keep your sins hidden and they share how God radically saved them from their sin. Judging someone for sharing their testimony and how God saved them is so low and to say it simply - it doesn’t show the fruit of Christ in your life.

@LizzieMarbach Repentance isn't, "I said some words so it's OK now" It requires real change and acceptance that your past matters, actually, which in this case is going to mean accepting that the overwhelming majority of men will not (and should not) want to be with you

@carlaskaufel @ostrachan Since you are going to pretend like you don't understand what I'm talking about...how come women with sexual pasts don't seek men in the church with sexual pasts as well? Why are you demanding virgins to look past your history?

@wrvb3 @carlaskaufel @ostrachan What you call shame is actually conviction; nobody n this conversation shamed, encouraged, or demanded that any man to choose a promiscuous woman as his wife. The willful rejection of Salvation is blasphemous, the mocking, insulting, and belittling of that woman is prideful

@LizzieMarbach The women are sleeping with 1% to 5% of the top men because, minus any social or legal restrictions, that’s what they do. They organize themselves into super harems around the top 1%. Then when they need someone to pay their rent they suddenly discover religion and find a simp

I think we are underestimating how sexually degenerate the young men are too. The women aren’t just sleeping with themselves. The young men are whoring around too & those who aren’t are addicted to porn. & very few are leading in purity when dating. We don’t have some epidemic of chaste holy men & whore women. Both sexes are sexually immoral & having a difficult time finding godly partners to pursue. I have seen & personally know countless situations where a virgin woman married a man with sexual history—in fact, this is much more common in my experience. Pretending like we have a generation of chaste holy young men while the women are all whores is just lying to ourselves about the real state of society. The men are in a terrible spot too & in desperate need of Christ.
Brittany Hugoboom@BritHugoboom

If you talk to any boy between the ages of 18-22, he’ll likely tell you that he’s frustrated with dating because it seems like every girl is on OnlyFans or sleeping around. Then he opens a social media app and the first thing he sees is some guy happy because he waited while his wife slept around but it’s okay because she found Jesus. So the average young boy is reading it frustrated because it sounds like this guy is a cuck and if he follows this path, he too will end up with a reformed hoe. Marriage needs a better marketing campaign. Many people have never seen a powerful marriage in real life. Everyone dreams of love and romance and feels like it’s no longer achievable in this age. Additionally, good girls also feel Prodigal son’d when they see posts like these because when a girl does bad things and “sees the light” she still keeps all the OF money and gets speaking engagements, fame, and a guy simping over her anyway. Not saying people can’t change, but these posts don’t inspire the ones who need inspiration. They just end up pissing off the guys and girls trying to date.

@yesiwetmyplants By definition, a virgin is better. While both can be redeemed from their sins by Christs sacrifice, being a whore is bad. It is worthy of shame and condemnation and only feminists want to pretend otherwise.

Fornication and something as simple as lying are both sins that are worthy of damnation. A virgin isn’t better than just because she sinned differently than a non virgin before marriage. Both need the gospel and both need their punishment taken by Christ or they’ll be taking it themselves in hell
