@twoghosts_lwt my guy who was dragging a bunch of lights with exposed wires into his side of the tunnel and haphazardly plugging them together in series:
@starryxchaos@flydeltajets_ that’s interesting to hear, crazy that even though it’s flammable, a 100% concentration doesn‘t cause it to ignite that easily. just tragic altogether, glad they found a way around this
@twoghosts_lwt@flydeltajets_ Most likely it did ignite a small although stron enough explosion to create a connection with the atmosphere and *then* it ignited a really strong explosion afaik again I don't really know the extent of it, i just know that a 100% concentration of any flammable gas or oxidizer+
@starryxchaos@flydeltajets_ ohh that’s very interesting to hear, thank you! still like you said probably not exactly the safest environment to be in tho😭 then what happened with apollo 1, was it the high cabin pressure that made it flammable? cause iirc, there was just a small spark that ignited the cabin
@twoghosts_lwt@flydeltajets_ Fun fact! A 100% pure oxygen atmosphere is not that dangerous ignition-wise. You'd need a mix with flammable gasses, oxygen is "just" an oxidizer. Even a 100% hydrogen environment is not prone to ignition
@HHarcoy@shots_mcu yeah that’s true. i guess killing him was the safest option though as they probably didn’t know if they were ever gonna be able to bring him back in the future (or it might’ve been part of the fox deal, i don’t know)
@twoghosts_lwt@shots_mcu Yes, that's true. But he was really cool there. They could have sent him somewhere else for a while. To the Inhumans, for example.😉
@HHarcoy@shots_mcu marvel didn’t get the full rights for quicksilver, fox only allowed them a couple minutes of screentime so they had to kill him some way. letting pietro sacrifice himself to save hawkeye was a noble death at least, and we have to remember he barely knew how to use his abilities
@flydeltajets_ That confused me because Eva is a Dutch name but she mentions being in an Eastern German choir
She's Dutch in my heart though that's a fellow Dutch person right there.
@startoverstars same. also wondering how people can even listen to songs thousands of times and not get sick of them. trust me i obsess over stuff a LOT but please i end up screaming when the same songs play over and over. i need change in music how do people listen thousands of times
@PhysCores they nerfed her SO bad and it’s so sad. usually i hate it when people say a character was nerfed cause a lot of the time there’s an explanation, but annie was genuinely just nerfed for no reason
@estelsstuff i used to do that, but i saw someone say that u should always review a film even if it‘s just a few words so that u know what ur thought were looking back and i liked that take. so i try to always write a review now, even if it‘s just a really short one
Do you guys write reviews on letterboxd for every movie you watch? Cause I only write for the ones which I enjoyed immensely or which were kind of life changing hence I give the rest only star ratings 😭😭
@mcjuliamc@elaaguara@astrosapphire@obviouslacking shooting wildlife the way we used to do it, or small farms rather than factory farming. but we’re far too overpopulated for this to work for everybody anymore, which is why we “need” factory farming to feed everyone in the first place
@elaaguara@astrosapphire@obviouslacking So both of you agree that meat is inherently unethical then? Since neither of you could provide an example of ethical meat
so sad rn bc after weeks of trying to convince my friend to watch PHM in theaters, she told me she watched it on her laptop instead:( i know it’s not my business, but this movie was genuinely made for the big screen. i wish she could’ve experienced it the way it was intended
@Sid7705@colligocritters no for sure, like i said, i do agree that the military in itself is doing horrible things and people who willingly support that are part of the problem
@twoghosts_lwt@colligocritters of course i totally get that, i know not all military members are criminals, but the issue is the absolute horrific nature of military action by nations like the US and Israel make it impossibly difficult to see anyone who joins willingly (since there are no drafts) as innocent
Can someone explain to me why people wanna be soldiers? Like I saw a post where someone said they always wanted to be a soldier and I'm sorry but thats insane to me? "Yeah I always wanted to kill people for a living and maybe never return myself" am I missing smt??
@Sid7705@colligocritters not disagreeing with that at all, i just wanted to say that not everyone joins the army because they want to kill and that there are plenty of jobs in the military that don’t involve combat. obviously they still support the military though regardless
@twoghosts_lwt@colligocritters if you're joining the military for a country like say the US for example, you're responsible for associating with that, and complicit in all their crimes by supporting the war machine....just like members of terrorist groups are all terrorists, even if they dont actively kill
@luvballslover32@colligocritters yeah you’re definitely still supporting the army no matter where you work, which is shit. just wanted to say that not every soldier is in combat and not everyone has that goal for being in the military cause they have a lot of positions
@twoghosts_lwt@colligocritters yeah but you're still complicit in whatever the US army has going on no matter what you do. Kinda seems like a shit deal especially since you can find camaraderie in other situations that don't involve helping to bomb kids
@colligocritters yeah people who WANT to be in combat are a bit deranged imo cause like you said, why would you want to shoot people and see your friends get killed
@twoghosts_lwt thank you for pointing it out bc I have 0 idea how the military works /seriously
I understand wanting to be in any other part but the part where you're on the field with your job being to shoot people. Thats the specific position i don't get
