Today, we celebrate the shared history and enduring partnership between our nation and the people of Texas.

🇺🇸 As America marks 250 years, we're also remembering a pivotal moment in Texas history. On July 4, 1845, by a vote of 55-1, convention delegates in Texas approved the United States' annexation proposal and began preparing a state constitution to submit to Texas voters.

Today, we celebrate 250 years since the birth of our nation and reflect on America's past, present and future. Wishing all Texans a safe and happy Fourth of July. 🇺🇸

Acting Comptroller Kelly Hancock reports state sales tax revenue totaled $4.2 billion, a 4.2% increase from June 2025.
