@patjames24 Makes sense. Not questioning the decision as Decaro is a star also and UNC always starts their best guy the first game no matter the situation, but also would be neat to see a top 5 pitcher matchup on Saturday. Let’s just all agree to root for Nebraska Friday night.

Know many think this, but can’t assume wins, especially in this wild season. Sure, *if* OU also wins Friday, you face Kyson Witherspoon. But it’s not like UNC won’t counter with a future top-10 pick of its own. Staff likes DeCaro on longer/regular rest. Gives him a full week.

Jake Knapp will get the start for the @DiamondHeels in their regional opener against Holy Cross on Friday. Knapp – who started the 2023 Terre Haute Regional opener – will be the first UNC pitcher to start multiple regional openers since Matt Harvey in 2008-10.
