"Anti-colonial" Bad Bunny fans need a history lesson The Spanish killed *orders of magnitude more indigenous* than the British colonists ever did. Spain was by far the most aggressive colonial power of the New World. Spain came to the New World to conquer it. The indigenous could accept subjugation, slavery- or be killed. Aztecs, Incas, Mayans, Tupi, etc 17th and 18th century British colonists wanted to set up their own societies and, in general, live peaceably apart from Indians. Spanish now as the language of "anti-colonial resistance" is hilarious. Like Muslims complaining about historical land grabs (also lol). The Spanish were far more aggressive and killed far more indigenous from Mexico to Chile. Millions more. While Spanish colonialism was much more brutal- it also built far less successful societies long term- than the British. It is what it is.
