@zacharyhaver I suspect that “Free China” was used to emphasise the point that there is in fact a free China. It is more striking and less yawn than using “Taiwan”. It’s probably the case that many in the U.S. are not interested in East Asia and have no idea of the politics. Sad but true.

@zacharyhaver @HKWORLDCITY "Totalitarian China" vs "Free China" "China" vs "Taiwan" I am not sure which comparison upsets CCP more. Taiwanese dont want to reclaim the CCP-infected territory now. They just want to make Taiwan great and dont want to be insulted with word "china"
