@ajt I disagree on the TAM. I’m probably never gonna launch a massive, VC funded co, but I’m a serial entrepreneur who’s built 2-6 person businesses and found this to be a great POV. Lotsa small biz founders think we need org charts, but hands on, flatter orgs often work better.

It’s a great article but I’m surprised it’s getting the play it is as it has a really small addressable market that it applies to. It’s just founders that are scaling and getting pushed to be managers vs doing what got them there. The audience that can use the advice is like a few hundred people, maybe low thousands. Nevertheless it’s a great piece and smart insight.

Counterintuitive perspective that makes a lot of sense. It’s hard to fully delegate the vision & energy of a founder, better for us to learn the tools & skills to be better managers and trust us to know when to stay hands on.

My friend Dave passed away last week. We hadn’t seen him at the bike shop for Friday beers in a few months, but figured life was keeping him busy. I don’t make it there every Friday either. Turns out he was undergoing chemo and no one knew. And then he passed in his sleep 👇

But larger, better funded companies and founders with the right connections didn’t stop, and now we’re finally starting to hear about them. A #ReadyPlayerOne metaverse? Are you kidding? Hell yeah. LFG! My project may not have made it, but I’m stoked to see others succeed!

But lots of big projects that were being built carefully to become a sustainable business with real utility were shuttered when the market and funding for NFT & WEB3 collapsed. Including us.
