@SeanMombo @nevereatcars Pop resets are crazy, they're letting people hit clips in comp that people were 100% sure were only ever gonna be free play only, even just a few years ago People will go from the backboard with 3 resets into a double tap with half a tank of boost I don't know how they do it

We're hiring for Bombadil! Come work with me on the future of browser testing — specification languages and temporal logic, JS runtimes, bundlers, and WASM frontends in Rust, and lots and lots of property-based testing. Apply here: antithesis.com/company/career… Retweets appreciated.

Of course a big part of it is that of course swears don't feel "bad" to say when you didn't learn and internalize the taboo since childhood But I've also seen cases where people give examples that are genuinely just tame swears, expressions of frustration more than vitriol

New genre of language post I've seen a few times now: "I learned X as a second language, and I must say they have the weakest swear words. They don't hit emotionally at all, unlike in my native language, in which all swears really pierce the soul"

@bvrakvs In Northern Europe, Norway to be exact they use Satan in Hell as the go to horrible curse and act as if it’s so bad to say. I mean ok, cool story bro but so what? I rather fuck your past and future and your whole family line in such a similar situation🤷‍♂️

Japanese swear words are so childish "pig", "shit", "idiot", "die"... compared to the ruthless Mediterranean style that attacks at sexuality, honor, and the very existence of your entire family, nation, and God. Rarely does one hit you like a piece of genius literature.

After having been introduced to the concept in the last week or two, and digesting it for a bit, I have to come out and say that oneboxing is really the only thing that makes any sense whatsoever

20 something hours into nioh 3, it really feels like it's just elden ring but with a more compressed map and actually fun combat! I now understand what everyone else felt when playing ER!

That atomic breath moment in Shin Godzilla (2016) when the beam erupts and Tokyo lights up purple is one of the most jaw-dropping Godzilla scenes ever put on screen.

There truly is an endless stream of posts of the style "English is truly the most versatile and messy and complex language—you can even do things like PUNS, and we have SYNONYMS, and we have LOAN WORDS from OTHER LANGUAGES. Sometimes you can even CHANGE THE ORDER of words"

I am continuously infuriated by homebrew's decision to use cute quirky metaphors for everything No I don't want to tap your cask brew into my cellar, I want to INSTALL a goddamn fuck package
