So, Roblox made it so community managers in Australia, New Zealand, and the Netherlands are nearly out of a job for peak spending season. In Ultimate Mining Tycoon (not pictured), these regions make up about 3% of our players, so 3% of those can't speak to 97% of players.

A recent change with age-verification and age-groups on Roblox was rolled out to New Zealand, Australia & Netherlands which restricts overall communication with people outside of those countries, severely impairing the experience on platform being able to engage with people across the globe who are also within the same age group. The change is intended to be released globally early next year, which will resolve the issues of certain regions being locked to communicating with each other. This currently limits people only in Australia, New Zealand & the Netherlands. This post is more so just encouragement for a global rollout rather than a regional one that limits communication outside of these regions. @believetrey @IOC3HQ We may look into launching "sub-hotlines" dedicated to specific games, platforms or communities (similar to what BloxShield was) - with IOC3 being the overbearing organization. We're still run by the same people and our mission has not changed :)

@believetrey @IOC3HQ Yeah, this was one of the factors we had been considering, we'll work on ways to feel more welcoming to the community :) It was a necessary change nonetheless, but we intend to look into ways to promote ourselves in a way that is comfortable for our a younger audience.

We appeared on national news this morning touching on #Roblox online safety & #BloxShield this morning; Some key insights regarding online safety on Roblox: 1️⃣ There are major issues at play regarding safety on the platform, which have only continued to evolve over the years, particulartly noting digital extremist groups, extortion cults, and online predators being exceptionally prevalent across communities and games on the platform. 2️⃣ Roblox is not an inherently unsafe platform - I myself grew up on the platform and built my careers off of the platform itself, Roblox provides a lot of value to a younger audience, however there are issues that must be addressed by Roblox, and safety steps that parents can take to protect their kids on the Roblox platform. 3️⃣ Roblox offers a wide array of safety features to take advantage of, such as their parental controls, age verification and report abuse systems; however there still remains gaps in these systems where Roblox needs to step up their game. 4️⃣ Roblox should look for more community input into these matters, and further involve organisations like BloxShield & Netsafe New Zealand (among many other amazing organisations in the space) in making the platform a safer place, not only for children, but for all users. 5️⃣ It is crucial for parents to utilise the safety feature that Roblox and other online platforms have available, and to monitor their kids online activity (without being overbearing!) - the internet can be a dangerous place, but there are many steps that parents and kids can take to reduce the risk.
