This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you?

@Brian_Sauve True, sometimes I think about bots being a very effective strategy in keeping twitter tribes alienated.

I think about this exchange often. I still think it may be the most perfect explanation of the internet possible:

@SiliconConley The poll options definitely weren't perfect. Imo too complex of a scenario to get others to read your core distinction into poll options stated so concisely, and therefore at risk of meaningless results.

If a husband is the spiritual provider, it is his duty to bear the burden of decision-making on the matter of which church to join. To invite his wife into that consideration is not to honor her or consider her better than himself but to ask the weaker vessel to share anxieties she was not meant to share. The poll options may not be perfect and people probably hear me as saying more than I’m actually saying. I’ve got no real problem with a husband asking “what did you think?” after a church service, but that should be done in the mode of information-gathering (What did you notice? What were the other women like?) rather than asking her what she thinks he should decide on the matter. I also am not suggesting that the husband (or any leader) refuse to communicate relevant reasoning etc. to those under his authority in a way that would give confidence. I also am not saying that such decisions should be surprises that come out of nowhere. And again, I am not suggesting that if she volunteers a red flag he ignore it. Many of the responses spoke of a need to clear it with her first in order to make sure you are running over her concerns, but why assume a posture of conflict? Why assume she must have an opinion at all? When I lead family worship, I pick the passage, and I don’t do that with the considered agreement of my wife; she has no opinion on what passage might be best, but trusts me to figure out a schedule. Why would these bigger questions of spiritual leadership be so different? If there’s nothing about the church that raises huge red flags, even a mature Christian wife with excellent discernment doesn’t need to have an opinion whether her husband might not be weighing out all the options correctly. She should just trust him. In general, it seems to be difficult for people to accept the premise: a healthy Christian marriage. I have a catagory for Abigail/Nabal marriage, but the poll was designed to preclude that. Perhaps the difficulty is that so few have healthy Christian marriages (even if they think they do). For the folks saying they need/benefit from their wife weighing in on it etc., consider what you are saying. Are you so incapable as spiritual leader such that you need her assistance to lead? If so, go ahead and ask, but recognize that it’s functionally similar to the physically disabled man who has to ask his wife to work outside the home to provide for the family because he can’t bear the task by himself.

Choosing a church in a healthy Christian marriage: To what degree should a husband consult his wife? Key: - Minimally: Information gathering only - Moderately: Seeking to reach agreement first but making the final call - Maximally: It’s a joint decision; her approval is required

@Brian_Sauve I think about the opportunity cost of not believing "He rewards those who seek Him" all the time.

Have you thought much about the opportunity cost of time? An hour spent on one thing is an hour not spent on another thing. Your life will be the product of which things you decide to spend those hours on and what not to spend them on. I think about this more the older I get.

@DayneShaul18324 @Joepackapunch Gotcha, curious, do you think visual illusions like the ambitious card are l witchcraft-light the same way mentalism tricks like pretending that spectator's body language is revealing his thought of card are?

This book by Heiser is receiving a lot of attention currently. As a former witch, I can attest to the fact that there are powers and principalities that exert influence over certain regions. Much like 1 Kings chapter 20. The Syrians believed that the gods of Israel were only gods of the hills. People back knew there were gods over lakes, rivers, hills, etc. What makes the ministry of Yeshua so powerful is that He had authority over demons in every region He went. Jesus is the God of all.

I was recruited as a teen. It was introduced to me slowly. Card tricks first, then tarot and predictions. I was too young to know what I was getting into. Once I was a witch, I was obsessed with power , control and revenge. I knew I was dealing with powerful forces. I was taught that they could be used for good or evil.

No, Thomas Massie does not vote with Democrats 99% of the time. That's false. FiveThirtyEight data from the 117th Congress shows he voted with Biden's positions only 1.8% of the time—the lowest in the House. He's a constitutional conservative known for opposing big spending, surveillance, and overreach from either party, which is why he sometimes breaks with GOP leadership too.

“Surrender all to Jesus” is no gospel. To begin with, no one has ever done it. We need Jesus—for us, in our place—precisely because we have not surrendered all to God.

comments are tuned off, so I can’t reply but yes, Christians aren’t totally depraved: “we are renewed in the whole man after the image of God, and are enabled more and more to die unto sin, and live unto righteousness”

Christians believe the Second Person of an infinite Triune God became flesh incarnate, compressed His full deity into an embryo, arrived through the uterine canal of a human female, grew an impressive, bipedal skin-chassis so that His priceless, perfect God-blood could serve as a ransom payment for the sins of a vast swath of believing humanity across the entire expanse of time and space. Please do not talk to me about a regional flood; you overeducated, underbelieving, feckless, faithless, pretentious, Socinian, elbow-patched seminar monkeys. As if God can't make it rain a bunch.
