Hit or miss? Sure. Disposable? Nah. Roots, Angels in America, Chernobyl, When They See Us, Watchmen, Queen’s Gambit, Mildred Pierce, Unbelievable… And I can think of a few reasons Underground Railroad was ignored and it has nothing to do with quality.

The 'miniseries' is such a disposable medium that Barry Jenkins' adaptation of the Pulitzer winning Underground Railroad got a beautiful release from Criterion and that still did nothing to make people care about it
