Teaching children that find communication a challenge. Trying to make my flute sound hollow.

@cgkedu I think your vet is a tad more expensive than ours 😂. She had an overnight stay all in £350. I just wish the NHS / Adult Care services would treat us humans just 20 % (maybe even 10%) as well as my dog.

@cgkedu I know the feeling. Our dog ate a home made mince pie once. Out of hours vet on phone said rush in to emergency vet. Cost of pies £350 plus ingredients 😂😵‍💫.

@meganbell_CT I’m was thinking of a storage facility for my stuff. I even looked up the prices. Turns out it’s cheaper to leave it in an old car instead of scrapping it. I reckon your class would love to organise it and work out some plans to go with it.

Any tips/suggestions on where to begin with sorting resources? It’s crazy what you accumulate over the years and it desperately needs organised 😳

@TheSaxDoctor Still playing mine (the previous model). It’s 46 years old now. I’ve thought about a more expensive tube but it’s cheaper to do an hour of long notes 😂. I do fancy one of those wooden TJ flutes though.

Just finished a service on this humble old Yamaha 221 flute. Nothing special about it, or so it would seem - but it's a seriously cracking blow. Must have been a Monday morning one. Just goes to show - you can't always tell what's going on underneath...

@bianca_nobilo I actually thought it must be fake, it’s so shocking. Unfortunately it’s not. The teacher/Twitter world cannot believe this is the person responsible for education.

Still can’t get over newly appointed Education Minister Andrea Jenkyns giving the finger to protestors as she walked into Downing Street on Thursday.

@_MissPritchard @MrTs_NQTs One reason maybe that they are trying to avoid you having the right to a permanent contract. Depends how long you have been rolling along temporary contracts.

@Mr_Minchin That looks fantastic. I’m definitely going to use that idea. Have you tried Newton meters to measure the force needed to move?

@imamberzoe I think it’s more likely to be the other chemicals in cocoa causing a lowering of your blood pressure. If it was sugar you’d notice it with other sugary foods.

Genuine question: does anyone know why eating chocolate almost instantly takes away a really bad headache for me? 🤔 a proper thumping tension headache can literally disappear when I have sugar, does this mean my body is craving/addicted to sugar?! Or is it to do with levels? 🍫

@missprycenqt Fill a balloon with water, and use a lighter underneath. It won’t pop. If you freeze a water balloon, the balloon just splits. The balloon with air obviously pops. Making fires, cooking bread on a stick is always good.

@QTJosieC Wow, they are high up. CO2 is heavier than air so it will sink if the door is shut. Maybe experiment with opening the door ( depending on what’s on the other side 🤓). I’ve been even more obsessive about CO2 levels today since your post 😂. I’m in a hut so it’s easy to sort.

I need some CO2 monitor advice... What should I set the level too? Its default is 1400 but the alarm kept going off... (much to the dismay of our noise-sensitive boy with asd 😢). Do I just increase so no alarm then monitor the levels at different times to keep track?

@QTJosieC Do you have many windows? I’m always looking at mine and if it turns amber I open the door and windows more. At 1000ppm my classroom effectively become a gazebo until it’s lower than 700. To answer your question, I’d keep the alarm on but try to keep the level down more.

@MissGemmaMunro I’ve been using ‘Release the Rhythm’ for years. I proof read it before it was published. You could look up drumming for excellence (Daniel Duggan). You can link it to almost anything. Let me know if you need any help if you want to use it.

Right edu Twitter! Help needed! I’m going to be taking the lead with teaching BSL and Music from next week. BSL I have experience with but music will be a new area for me. Any primary music programmes or resources you could point me to would be amazing! 🎼 🎶

@FayyyO26 I’m fairly sure I’ve never put the words ‘scrub’ ‘cooker’ and ‘decide’ in the same sentence before 😂

Woke at 5:45 so decided to scrub the cooker, it quickly got out of hand. Kitchen cupboards are everywhere, contents of the fridge all over the sides. Kids are up and want breakfast. It’s carnage. Absolute carnage.
