It’s pathetic. AAU has helped so many kids. People talk shit about AAU because high school coaches get the damn kids for 8 months out of the year and we are supposed to duplicate that in 3 months. People are dumb. Yes, AAU has bad basketball but so does high school.

I have been a teacher for 29 years. During that time, I have had good classes of students and not-so-good classes of students. NEVER in my life have I experienced the level of frustration that I am experiencing with this year's 9th graders. Don't get me wrong, there are some great kids in my classes, but on the whole, the level of disrespect and inability to stay focused on their tasks is off the chart. My patience is at an end..... This might be the year that I am done .

I understand and am disappointed at the same time. Understand because of the age. But also when I was a good bit younger than what I assume this kid is, without internet at my fingertips, I knew who the greats from the past were. NFL Films tapes from goodwill got me right!
