Am I wrong if I said the shock is still a little understandable, because at any point, your lifetime partner can come to you with honesty and say, “Sex is important to me and we no longer have it. Now, I’m honestly really struggling with the idea of monogamy in this relationship” Now that will of course lead to harder conversations about compatibility, trust and where things can realistically go from there — but that’s apart of the whole lifelong companionship thing. You come to one another when you’re struggling BEFORE betraying the union. No need to deceive and cheat. Then you can actually move forward with your head held high knowing you kept it real and put it all out there 😭

I’ve legit seen a wife who hasn’t had sex with her husband in 5 years be genuinely shocked and crushed that he’s having an affair. This level of cognitive dissonance is bugged out to me 🤣
