The Vice President of Zimbabwe, Dr. Constantino Chiwenga, met with the Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania to Zimbabwe, Ambassador Suzan S. Kaganda, at the Vice President’s offices in Harare. The discussions centered on strengthening bilateral and diplomatic ties between Tanzania and Zimbabwe, especially in economic development and strategic cooperation. Dr. Chiwenga expressed gratitude to Tanzania for its support in Zimbabwe’s development since the liberation struggle, noting that this historic relationship should be further deepened through enhanced collaboration in key sectors such as mining, tourism, agriculture, communications, as well as defense and security. He also suggested establishing high-level bilateral meetings (Binational Meetings) to improve follow-up and execution of strategic agreements. Ambassador Kaganda thanked Dr. Chiwenga for his ongoing efforts to strengthen the bond between the two countries, emphasizing that the relationship is based on shared history and brotherhood. She assured that Tanzania will continue to cooperate with Zimbabwe across various sectors, including utilizing Tanzanian ports for cargo transportation and promoting the Swahili language through classes established in Harare and Bulawayo to further boost economic and cultural ties.
