من النقاد الذين تناولوا تجربة الحداثة الشعرية العمانية الأستاذة إميلي جين أوديل، وهي كاتبة وأكاديمية أمريكية موسوعية ذات شخصية مدهشة؛ اتسعت اهتماماتها تدريسا وبحثا وكتابة لتشمل: الشريعة الإسلامية، والحضارة، والقانون، والتاريخ، والآثار، والفنون الجميلة، والدراسات الروسية، والدراسات ما بعد الاستعمارية، والتصوف، والمسرح، والتلفزيون، والسينما. وقد عملت في جامعات عديدة منها جامعة كولومبيا، و جامعة ييل، وجامعة هارفرد، وجامعة السلطان قابوس، والجامعة الأمريكية في بيروت، وجامعة بارامي في ميانمار. وهي بعد ذلك ناشطة في حقوق الإنسان ومغامرة تعكف حاليا على كتابة مغامراتها في الصين والتبت! نشرت الأستاذة إميلي أوديل عام 2024 في (مجلة الدراسات العربية) بحثا باللغة الإنجليزية بعنوان "صورة الطبيعة في الشعر العُماني الحديث: إنتاجات بيئية بديلة للمجتمعية، والفردية، والروحية". وهو بحث نوعي عميق استكشفت فيه استخدام الشعراء العُمانيين المعاصرين للصور الطبيعية بكونها تقنية شعرية لمواجهة القمع والنفي بمعناهما الفلسفي روحيا واجتماعيا، كما أنها ناقشت تأثير السفر والدراسة والمنفى على لغة الشعر العُماني وأشكاله – قصيدة النثر خاصة – وقدمت رؤى تاريخية مهمة، وبينت انخراط الشعراء العُمانيين في المناظر الطبيعية الأجنبية (مثل كيمبريدج عند هلال الحجري أو السويد عند زاهر الغافري). كما توغلت الناقدة في قصائد سيف الرحبي وسماء عيسى وعبدالله الريامي، بمنهج مقارن عميق يضع نصوصهم في سياق تجربة الحداثة العربية في الشام وفلسطين. تُغطي أوديل بهذا البحث فجوةً أكاديميةً واضحة؛ فكما تُشير، هناك ندرة في الأدبيات الإنجليزية حول الشعر العُماني الحديث، وإن وجد بعضها فهو ينحو إلى التبسيط وإطلاق التعميمات الكاسحة التي تختزل هذا الشعر في كونه منسجما مع المكان ومتواطئا مع السائد. تتميز أوديل بتركيزها على أساليب الشعراء العُمانيين الفريدة في تصوير الطبيعة وجعلها ملاذا لذواتهم المتشظية من قسوة سلطة الجغرافيا وتابوهاتها السياسية والثقافية والاجتماعية. يبقى أن أشير بأن إميلي أوديل -كما تؤكد بنفسها- مدينة في هذا البحث للأكاديمي والمترجم العماني المتميز الدكتور خالد البلوشي الذي كانت ترجماته لنماذج من الشعر العماني الحديث إلى الإنجليزية نافذة مهمة جدا للدراسات الإنجليزية المعنية بأدب منطقة الخليج العربي. #علم_العُمانيات #omanology
