My leader @PeterObi, unfortunately this is where we part ways. My support for you was largely based on the efforts that I have seen from you in fighting for democratic, free, and fair elections. However, your pattern of resigning from political parties solely because of external pressure (PDP, LP, and now ADC) is uncharacteristic of a leader with the ability to fight for what is right. You cower in the face of pressure and you run for soft landing else where. This is not the type of leadership Nigeria needs given its dire situation, and certainly not the type of politics that we need going into 2027. My hate for Tinubu is bigger than my love for a better Nigeria at the moment. So I will align with whom I believe can end Tinubu. Best wishes.

BREAKING; Peter Obi Resigned from ADC Peter announced his departure from ADC. He said, “Let me state clearly: my decision to leave the ADC is not because our highly respected Chairman, Senator David Mark, treated me badly, nor because my leader and elder brother, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, or any other respected leaders did anything personally wrong to me. I will continue to respect them. “However, the same Nigerian state and its agents that created unnecessary crises and hostility within the Labour Party that forced me to leave now appear to be finding their way into the ADC, with endless court cases, internal battles, suspicion, and division, instead of focusing on deeper national problems and playing politics built more on control and exclusion than on service and nation-building.”

Breaking: Presidency Mounting Pressure on Supreme Court Justices Over ADC Case. A civil society group, the Alliance for Democratic Rights (ADR), has alleged that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, through the Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, is mounting undue pressure on Supreme Court justices to rule against the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Sen. David Mark, and the party’s National Secretary, Rauf Aregbesola. The allegation was contained in a press statement issued in Abuja on Saturday and signed by the group’s spokesperson, Mr. Andy O. Chucks. According to Mr. Chucks, the Presidency is allegedly using the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to intimidate the justices if they fail to “succumb to the bidding of the Federal Government.” He further claimed that some of the justices are being accused of having a “bad past” as part of the pressure tactics. Mr. Chucks also alleged that President Tinubu “swore that the ADC must not be on the ballot” for the 2027 general elections. “Some northern governors of the ruling APC disclosed to our leaders that the President told them he would use the judiciary to scuttle the ADC,” the statement read. He further alleged that the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, “publicly instructed that the ADC should be scattered.” The ADR also claimed that during the party’s just-concluded national convention, the government denied the ADC access to all available public venues until a park was secured at the last minute. Mr. Chucks said tension continues to rise across the country over alleged government interference in opposition parties’ affairs, which he claimed is aimed at paving the way for a one-party system. He added that legal experts and the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) have condemned what he described as “judicial meddling in the affairs of political parties despite a lack of jurisdiction.” Citing an insider report, Mr. Chucks said the justices are reportedly reluctant to reverse themselves on an issue where the court has delivered a series of judgments, arguing that doing so would erode public confidence in the judiciary a stance that has allegedly angered the Presidency. He also claimed that the international community has taken interest in the case. Efforts to reach the Presidency, the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation, the EFCC, and the Supreme Court for comment were unsuccessful as of press time. The Supreme Court has reserved judgment in the ADC leadership suit and stated that a date will be communicated to the parties. The group called on the judiciary to uphold justice and resist any form of intimidation or interference.

VERY SHOCKING The killers of the late District Head of Kwallak in Plateau State turned out to be local Christian youths, not the Fulanis as earlier suspected. After being arrested, they were set on fire by an angry mob in Plateau State. Read full details here 👇🏾 Plateau Mob Kills Own Youths Over Murder of Traditional Ruler in Plateau By: Zagazola Makama Three plateau state’s indigenes suspected to be involved in the killing of a traditional ruler in Langtang North Local Government Area of Plateau State were on Friday set ablaze by an angry mob. The victims were alleged to have participated in the killing of the traditional ruler of Kwallak community, Mr Ponzhi Kwallak, who was attacked and murdered at his residence on Thursday night. Sources in the community said that the assailants stormed the monarch’s home, shot him, and made away with his motorcycle and mobile phone. The incident, which initially sparked tension and speculation within the community, was reportedly first attributed to external attackers (fulani bandits). However, subsequent developments indicated that the suspects were allegedly from within the community. Security sources said the suspects were apprehended on Friday while attempting to sell the stolen motorcycle. According to eyewitness accounts, the suspects allegedly confessed to the crime after being apprehended by members of the community. It was further gathered that the suspects were being taken to security operatives when a mob intercepted them near the Langtang North Local Government Council Secretariat and set them ablaze. The late monarch had recently received the motorcycle, which was later traced to the suspects.

POLITICAL PERSECUTION DISGUISED AS JUSTICE Let’s be honest, this whole thing is looking suspicious. Going after Mallam Nasir @ElRufai with anonymous witnesses and secret testimony does not inspire confidence, it raises questions. If there is a genuine case, why all the secrecy? This is why many people believe this is more political than legal. You cannot claim transparency while hiding witnesses from the public in a case involving a major political figure. It starts to look like an attempt to weaken or intimidate someone because of his political stance. Love him or hate him, El-Rufai has been one of the few politicians who speaks his mind without fear. You may disagree with him, but using state institutions in a way that appears selective should concern everyone. Today it is him, tomorrow it could be anyone seen as inconvenient. Justice is supposed to be open and fair, not something wrapped in secrecy. Nigerians are not fools, we can tell when something feels off. If there is evidence, bring it and let the court decide in the open. This is bigger than El-Rufai. It is about protecting the rule of law and resisting any attempt to turn the justices system into a political weapon.

The new Electoral Act forced on Nigerians is dangerous The Act now allows candidates contesting elections to print their own ballot papers. It also permits INEC officials to accept ballot papers that lack the official INEC security features. All eyes on INEC.

Former INEC REC, Dr. Mike Igini, has raised alarm about these changes. 1. The Act now allows candidates contesting elections to print their own ballot papers. 2. It also permits INEC officials to accept ballot papers that lack the official INEC security features. This is what @SenGodswill led Senate approved for us.
