Garri was the only thing I had. I drank it for three straight days. By the third day, I barely had any strength left in me. That was when I suddenly remembered a place I used to see waterleaf in school. I quickly grabbed a nylon bag and dressed up like I was going to school. I got there, looked left and right and started cutting. I’d cut small. If I noticed someone coming, I’d stop and pretend to be on my phone or searching my bag… until I got what I needed. 😹 I got home and, for the first time in three days, I didn’t drink garri. I ate eba with waterleaf. 😭 Ahh… the deep sleep I had after eating it, I slept like a baby.😑
