@akinkunmi I don't think this is vibe coding though

People have been asking me this. Honestly, the way I vibe-code is not special at all. Going by the true definition, it's not even vibe-coding. The reason I build good software with AI is because I was already good at it prior to AI. I don't even use skills, agents.md, MCPs, etc. I prompt one small feature at a time. My typical vibe-coding session looks like this: "Create a table to track usage analytics, the data should be scoped to projects for better granular insights." > Agent creates table. "Generate and run the migration files, then create a trackUsage helper function we can resuse". > Agent: Done. > "Scan the API directory and track usage for every event that is emitted". Sometimes, I send all of this or more as one prompt but you get the point. One thing at a time, the same way I would do it without AI. I'm not doing anything out of the ordinary to get good results out of AI. Existing experience and expertise is what helps me.

@akinkunmi Bro..., I don't if you will ever honor this or even take a look at this comment twice.., but if you ever did, if there was a way to have a preview into your client vibecoding session 🙏🏾

I once ignorantly called a Professor in my department "Dr". Genuinely I didn't know he was a professor. He invited me into his office and corrected me, letting me know he wasn't a Dr. but a Professor. He didn't insult me, he didn't insult my finances, he didn't insult my family, he could have done all of this, but no, he chose to correct me, like a sane human should. The fact that you'd choose to involved finances in a conversation like this just goes a long way to tell the kind of person you are. Many Nigerians are really too classist, and for a people as poor as we are, we’re way too money-centered.

Even people who have never earned a dime in their life if not for NYSC will come to camp and call medical professionals 'students'. My internship salary per month will comfortably pay 2 corpers and I'll still see change. Even if your PPA pays you 100k we're still not your mate.

I can relate. There was a bad boy then in my street in Ph. He was huge and lanky, very rugged with dreads. Hmmm, I use to imagine he could plan to k!snap me or a close person then. So I avoided all eye contact with him, I avoided everyone close to him. Then, one day he came to my shop and asked me for something for breakfast. I knew he wanted to use it for bet so I gave him 1000. Omo, since that day he became my guard. Even when PH local government boys came to my shop for yeye revenue, he scared them away. We all need the bad boys around.

We had a cultist in my former compound then. I don’t even know what issue he had with the landlord, but he refused to pay rent. The landlord dragged him to court… and surprisingly, the guy won. He was even given some months to stay and look for another house. That’s when the landlord started acting somehow. Every morning, my landlord would put sacrifices in front of this guy’s door; eggs, plantain, red oil. But this guy? He would wake up, come outside, carry the sacrifice, go and sit where everybody (including the landlord) would see him… And start eating it. Like normal breakfast. Every single day. At some point, the landlord realized he was just wasting money feeding this guy. He stopped. Funny enough, before the guy finally packed out, they became padi.

I can never forget my time in Lagos in a hurry 😂 I just randomly remembered when my landlady wanted to renovate the house, so she gave everyone a quit notice. She actually gave us a 6 months notice I can’t lie When the time was up and none of us had moved out , she cut off the light and water supply 😂😂 Everybody moved out within a week 😂😂 And that was when I met Mr Yeye Chinedu that almost finished me 😭😭 Has this ever happened to you? Quote me please don’t Air me

🇯🇵 Kled (a paid data-upload app) just IP-banned all of Nigeria because Nigerians are using fake Japanese passports to scam payouts. I'm so sick and tired of them doing this all over various platforms (including X) while the rest of us have to actually do real work.

Avi Patel@avipat_

We have removed Kled from the Nigerian app store and IP banned the entire region. The first thing I would like to say is I have nothing against Nigeria. I have a ton of friends from this region and these were some of our earliest app adopters. Genuinely, thank you all for the support. Kled has been up and running and out of beta for 4 months now. We have paid out hundreds of thousands of people for their data, and our users have uploaded over 1 billion assets onto our platform. After several months of uploads we found that Nigeria had a ≈95% fraud rate. Instead of real, usable data, users were uploading pictures of black screens, duplicate photos, internet generated images, AI generated images, etc. at an unimaginable scale. In comparison, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines have a less than 10% fraud rate across 10x the userbase size. Our fraud system is fast to catch these issues but the level of complexity of these schemes is getting out of hand. This weekend we were flooded with thousands of fake Japanese passports and identity cards with Nigerians photoshopped onto them in our KYC system. That was the final straw. As a startup we can't afford to eat the costs of that data overhead, so we temporarily removed the app from the region while we improved our fraud detection and banning system to quickly filter out bad actors when the time is right. On top of all of this, every time we make a post there is someone asking us to bring the region back within seconds. We hear you, but it's gotten out of hand. We've made this decision with great care. We love everyone who has genuinely supported Kled from Nigeria, and we hope to return when the time is right. -Kled Team

About two months ago, someone wanted to hire my friend as a CRM expert. They had a call, spoke in detail, and after the call, the client said they still had a few other candidates to review. Then the client went silent. A month later, they came back. It turned out they had hired someone else who couldn’t deliver. They asked my friend if she was still available, she said yes. They sent her an offer. When she showed me the offer, it was clear they were not just looking for a CRM expert. They wanted a content marketer, AI Video creator, Video editor, an operations manager, and everything in between, all for 550K. I told her directly, “You will burn out, turn it down.” She turned it down. And this person is a Nigerian living in the UK. Look at the offer letter below👇👇

Last year, I blocked someone for borrowing ₦2,000 and refusing to pay it back. No warning. No argument. Just blocked. A few months later, I saw a tweet about a young guy who died after a brief illness. The name felt familiar, so I checked his photo. It was him. The same person I blocked over ₦2,000. Out of curiosity (and guilt), I scrolled through his page. His last few tweets were about being sick, asking for help, and people ignoring him. My chest felt tight. I went back to our last chat. His last message to me was: “Please I’ll pay you back, I’m just not okay right now.” I never replied. Till today, that ₦2,000 feels heavier than any money I’ve ever lost.

You think it’s by reading book only? Lol 😂 I like it when motivational speakers speak with confidence. All we hear is the Process: be diligent, form a community of dream executors, always show up, and so on. But have you noticed that they often sell the process, yet rarely acknowledge the variables? Otedola didn’t either in his book. This is because there is no guarantee those processes will make you an outlier. It probably won’t, because the variables on which the processes depend are rarely discussed. They can’t actually because there are no patterns to that. lol 😂 Just as Robert Herjavec, the billionaire of Shark Tank said, "I can tell you the person who will succeed if ten people walk into this room." He was asked how, and he said that anyone who follows the process — e.g, being confident, always prepared for opportunities, etc — will succeed. He then said, But to be super successful? To be a Billionaire? To become an outlier? You just have to get lucky or find some grace on your way up. The most important factor is Grace. Many people who would ordinarily have been successful by the scale of their efforts/process have gone into the ruins of history because they lack Grace. The process matters, and I preach that too; however, always pray for God’s grace because grace perfects the variables to make your process shine. Remember: at the end of the day, only winners become motivational speakers.

Obi and Dickson had a meeting last year. Dickson went ahead and formed the NDC. Obi knew Tinubu would try to shatter the ADC coalition, so he moved ahead of time. El-Rufai said last December that the ADC coalition was just a temporary solution. These men are several steps ahead of Tinubu this time. Now both Obi and Kwankwaso have defected to the NDC. El-Rufai will join them next week. Atiku and Tinubu didn’t see it coming.

Your lecturer may not tell you this, but I will: 1. Do your best to graduate with a first class (or the best grade you can achieve). 2.Attend conferences and academic events. 3. Start applying for scholarships in your final year. 4. Build genuine relationships with your lecturers. 5.Contribute meaningfully to discussions in class and beyond. 6. Volunteer for roles that build your experience and visibility. Add yours👇👇

@iamC_D_O @WithBukky Well, I later unblocked her, but It's worth questioning that after teaching someone for 5 yrs, you believe they don't possess some substantial amount of knowledge. To me, I think it's more of a pride issue. People often think we tell tales when we say these things.

The real shiii about this job is that it takes every minute of your life. I’ve been there before—we resume by 6 a.m. and close by 10 p.m., and on top of that, there’s no month you won’t end up in debt. The debt part is really crazy. If you don’t know how to ste@l from customers or the company, bro, you’ll be in debt beyond your salary. 😭 My first month working at a filling station, my boss said I wouldn’t get any day off for the whole month so I could learn how to operate the pump. Bro, I was so dirty that month 😭. My salary was 15k, but I ended up in 24k debt. I cried for weeks before I understood how to work smart, not just hard. My boss even pardoned me and still paid me that month’s salary. I didn’t even have shoes to wear—the ones I used belonged to my cousin. I later bought a new pair for 11k. One day, I went to the mosque to pray, and when I finished, my shoes were gone. Omo, I had to walk from Tanke Tipa garage to Opomalu barefoot 😭😭. I still know how to operate the pump today
