I don’t think I’ve watched something so bad it actually caused me physical pain in a long time. That segment was a complete disaster.
And they really thought having Pat McAfee announce that WrestleMania ticket prices were being lowered by 25% would make them look good? Wouldn’t it make more sense to have Triple H deliver that message?

@TripleHHHPaulL This is no context BS. Alex Wright had turned heel a few months prior and was TV Champion entering that match. Wright was getting decent heat and WCW crowds at the time always popped big for title changes. Sub Disco out for anyone else and the crowd reacts the same.

@UCFMike1 @jpgilbert JD has a high floor at least. Our problem now is our Athletics Department operates like we're still in CUSA instead of the Big-12 with a 9-figure budget and is cartoonishly cheap resourcing MBB. It's a choice and malpractice to not invest in MBB at this point.

I asked the question and that was the answer the commissioner gave. Nobody got screwed here as it's always close but Auburn was better than SMU in 5 out of 7 metrics and the number and quality wins aren't even close. AU beat 3 Power 5 Conference Champs! SMU OOCSOS 191 AUBURN 16

It remains a Top 5 all-time Trek episode because it admitted that a war for literal survival cannot be clean. And that good men must sometimes do terrible things to preserve what is worth preserving. After all the pious sermons delivered in TNG, and even earlier outings of DS9, this specific episode got REAL. And Trekkies appreciated the fact.
