@AbdoAbuhassan @suzypuss @drruthannharpur Have you considered giving these venomous posts a rest? They pop up every few months + frankly are unprofessional + not in keeping w HCPC and BPS guidance on social media use. Many folk have been reported to HCPC for similar behaviour by others.

Interesting experience lecturing today. Criticised for criticising the diagnosis of BPD by students hoping to enter Clinical Psychology. Apparently I was increasing stigma against it simply by talking about it. Sorry, that’s not how it works…

@SophieLongley4 Hi Sophie, we have a few neurodivergent researchers in our group and would defo be interested as we offer mentoring and seek to be as open to adjustments and support as possible but the tendency to overload and then freeze is very tough to deal with. Email k.scior@ucl.ac.uk plse

@drruthannharpur @suzypuss We'd gladly consider engaging in a public conversation on this, seeing as risk of increasing stigma was a key point raised by audience. Very important debate and PS fully support critique of v messy + problematic BPD diagnosis that annihilates person's very humanness

@suzypuss Wait, what, how?! I would love to see a thoughtful debate from both sides of this issue. Would be possible as there are many excellent clinicians and researchers with different perspectives. I'd happily volunteer to take up the pro diagnosis side!

RT + help plse if you can! My colleague + friend Adrian is a wheelchair user whose NHS e-wheelchair is once again broken. Last year he spent 7 weeks largely housebound when it needed repair. Does anyone have an e-wheelchair in good condition they no longer need? @Uclusresearch

Special moment of celebration + supervisor joy. Our 1st ever @Uclusresearch PhD student @JemBhatt has only just done it again + submitted her @UCL_DClinPsy thesis. Both important advances in our understanding of dementia related stigma. @AgingPsychol

@RoseAnnieFlo Thanks for your comment Rose Annie 🙏 We're having continuing discussions re language, incl whether we shd use "humanise" - problematic connotations but also names fact that in many places in-patients are not treated as equal human beings.

Seems like we smashed it once again, this time jointly w @UCL_DClinPsy, in laying on a truly inclusive, inspirational event. At times, could have heard a pin drop, despite 250+ in the room. Massive thanks to all speakers + attendees
