Naheed Nenshi says he’ll balance Alberta’s books the same way he did in Calgary. But Calgarians won’t forget the tax-and-spend Liberal legacy he left behind: • 81% increase in property taxes • 78% increase in user fees for city services While United Conservatives are cutting taxes, saving individuals up to $750 and families up to $1,500 a year, the Alberta NDP are picking through the rubble of Nenshi’s mayorship looking for anything of real value. 🔗 unitedconservativecaucus.ca/nenshis-math-i…

Opioid-related deaths are at pre-pandemic levels in Calgary and Lethbridge. Recovery-oriented services and supports are in place and working. It's the right time to move away from the short-term crisis response of drug consumption sites in these cities. Recovery works.

The March Water Supply Outlook is in, and the conditions are on track to be much better than what we saw in 2025. Strong snowpack in the Rocky Mountains is the powerhouse behind this positive outlook, promising a steady supply for the river basins later this year. We’re putting our best data directly into the hands of every Albertan. These updates help ensure families, farmers, communities, and the province are all looking at the same map, giving us all a clear path to protect our water and grow our future together. This week, I had the opportunity to visit the Emergency Health Services dispatch centre in Edmonton with Les Fisher, Managing Director and Chief of EHS, and Anne Macdonald, Chief of Operations of EHS. The tour highlighted the complexity and precision required to manage emergency, non-emergency, and interfacility transfer (IFT) calls across the province. I thank our paramedics and dispatch teams for their tireless commitment to delivering timely, high-quality care to Albertans when it matters most.

The UCP government is making historic investments in education and building schools where they’re needed most. Budget 2026 approved 2 new school projects for north east Calgary - bringing the number of on-going projects in the area to 11.

Even Ottawa’s own immigration review is now admitting what Albertans have been saying for years: the system became harder to manage and less functional. Minister @nateglubish did an excellent deep dive on what that means for Alberta, and why this fall’s referendum matters. Read the full breakdown here: nateglubish.substack.com/p/why-alberta-…

The NDP claims the UCP destroyed $33 billion in renewable investment. That number comes from the AESO connection queue. Not financed projects. Not shovel-ready developments. Press releases and pipe dreams. The same NDP that says they want to lower your electricity costs wants to go back to a system where every Alberta family subsidized billions in transmission buildouts for speculative projects that were never going to be built. That's not a plan to save you money. That's a plan to raise your bills. I wrote the full breakdown with every claim sourced 👇 open.substack.com/pub/nateglubis…

This is incredible news! 10 new doctors accepting patients in Okotoks, a total of 30 in southern Alberta. This is transformative for our community. More doctors means better access to care for families right here at home, and real progress in strengthening our local healthcare system. Thank you to @AdrianaLaGrange for her leadership and continued work to strengthen our healthcare system, including recruiting and retaining doctors across the province to ensure Albertans can get the care they need, when and where they need it.

Alberta's Transportation enforcement team are cracking down on dangerous trucking operations. Last year, we shutdown: - 5 unsafe driver training schools - 13 fraudulent trucking companies I’m proud of the work they’re doing to help keep our roads safe.

calgarysun.com/opinion/letter… Alberta is taking action to align its healthcare system with models used in many other countries that have better health outcomes, where patients can choose how they access certain non‑emergency services. As the authors highlight: "Any argument that the Smith government’s plan will somehow create a unique system… or lead to the ‘Americanization’ of health care is simply not based in fact. These reforms will actually move Alberta towards the international norm.” The goal is simple: we need to meet Albertans where they are and expand options to help improve access to timely care.

Traceability plays a critical role in protecting animal health, maintaining market access, and reinforcing the trust that consumers and trading partners place in Alberta’s livestock sector. It’s an essential part of a modern, competitive agriculture industry. Alberta’s livestock producers are world-class, and the sector is a major driver of our economy and rural communities. As these discussions move forward, it’s important that any changes support producers, reduce unnecessary burden, and strengthen, not hinder, our ag sector. As Minister, I can assure our industry and producers that their voices are heard every step of the way. Thank you to MLA @GlennVanDijken for bringing attention to this important issue.

Joe Rogan is 100% correct: Alberta is a truly amazing place with some incredibly hardworking people! And to my friend @PierrePoilievre's point— Mr. Rogan, consider this your official invitation to come back to Alberta this summer and visit the greatest outdoor show on earth, the Calgary Stampede.
