The Moose Hide Campaign is an Indigenous-led movement that began in British Columbia and has grown across Canada, calling on all people—especially men and boys—to take a stand against violence towards women and children. Moose Hide Campaign Day is an opportunity to reflect on the importance of respectful relationships, speak up against gender-based violence, and commit to creating safer communities. The campaign is rooted in Indigenous teachings and emphasizes the role we all play in prevention, accountability, and reconciliation. Its importance lies in its focus on action—encouraging individuals to wear a moose hide pin as a visible pledge to end violence and to engage in conversations that promote respect, safety, and healing in our communities. #MooseHideCampaign #EndViolence #Respect #Reconciliation #SaferCommunities

Alberta's government is always looking to grow our trading partners and have conversations with new markets around the world. It was great to sit down with representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of Somalia and discuss how we can work together to better serve our needs. #abpoli #able #energy #alberta #somalia

This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. Clearwater County has updated a wildfire alert. This alert is in effect for southwest Clearwater County, near Highway 734, just north of the junction with highway 584, updated to include properties west of Range Road 80, and north of the James River. There is an out of control wildfire near highway 734, about 3 km northwest of the highway 584 junction in southwest Clearwater County. All campers, traffic and anyone in the backcountry that is within 10 km of highway 734, near the highway 584 junction should leave the area immediately. Residents in the area must prepare for a possible evacuation. There is no mandatory evacuation for residents at this time. Everyone must avoid the area so wildfire crews can action this fire. It was a pleasure to welcome Senator Patti Laboucan-Benson and representatives from the Australian Human Rights Commission, and Native Counselling Services of Alberta to the legislature today.   I appreciated the opportunity to discuss the important work being done to advance human rights and ensure Albertans can fully participate in our cultural, social, economic, and political life free from discrimination.

Today we marked the end of the first sitting of 2026 and I was proud to serve as the MLA for Calgary-Peigan and represent our government as Minister of Arts, Culture and Status of Women. Throughout this session, our government remained focused on putting Albertans first, ensuring our province continues to be the best place to live, work and raise a family. As we head into the summer months, I look forward to connecting with my constituents and with Albertans across the province so we can continue working to build a stronger, more prosperous Alberta.

With the new Care-First adjusted rate cap, good drivers will see fair, stable and more affordable insurance. Average rate increases for insurers will be capped at 5% across the board, while ensuring individual Alberta drivers won’t see increases above 10%. Starting in 2027, Albertans will see real savings that last.   alberta.ca/release.cfm?xI…

It was great joining MLA Brandon Lunty for a fun event in his constituency last night. Brandon is a strong advocate for his community and someone who works tirelessly to support the families, businesses, and residents of Leduc-Beaumont. His commitment to the people he serves is clear every single day. Thank you to everyone who came out to support Alberta’s conservative movement. We remain strong because of grassroots supporters who continue showing up, getting involved, and fighting for a stronger future for our province.

More homes. More quickly. More affordably. I was pleased to announce a record $323 million for building affordable housing in communities across Alberta, along with our federal partners, today in Edmonton. Alberta’s government remains committed to meeting the challenge, ensuring families can continue to afford to live in the places they call home. Read more about it here: alberta.ca/release.cfm?xI…

The @SPGlobalRatings affirmed Alberta’s AA- rating with a stable outlook, saying the province is managing its finances well despite challenging economic conditions.   The credit rating agency highlighted Alberta’s experienced fiscal management, strong cost control, prudent debt management, and detailed budgeting.   S&P says Alberta remains in a stronger financial position than most provinces, with lower debt and strong cash reserves including the Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund.

Many parts of Alberta are expected to see high wind gusts on Thursday that could impact power lines. Plan ahead if you're travelling, and if you come across a downed power line or tower: ⚡️Treat them as energized and dangerous. ⚡️Stay a least 10 metres away from the downed line and do not touch the line or anything in contact with it. ⚡️Call 911 and your local utility company to report the situation. #abstorm #abpoli #ableg
