May is Sexual Violence Awareness Month — a time to raise awareness, support survivors and reaffirm our shared commitment to ending sexual violence in all its forms. Through Building on our Strengths: Alberta’s 10-Year Strategy to End Gender-Based Violence, our government is taking a coordinated approach to prevent violence, strengthen supports for survivors and improve access to services across Alberta. Anyone seeking information, crisis support or connection to local services can call or text the Alberta One Line for Sexual Violence at 1-866-403-8000 for confidential, province-wide support. If you or anyone you know is experiencing family violence, help is also available through the Family Violence Info Line at 310-1818, any time, day or night.
