Naheed Nenshi says he’ll balance Alberta’s books the same way he did in Calgary. But Calgarians won’t forget the tax-and-spend Liberal legacy he left behind: • 81% increase in property taxes • 78% increase in user fees for city services While United Conservatives are cutting taxes, saving individuals up to $750 and families up to $1,500 a year, the Alberta NDP are picking through the rubble of Nenshi’s mayorship looking for anything of real value. 🔗 unitedconservativecaucus.ca/nenshis-math-i…

Alberta's Transportation enforcement team are cracking down on dangerous trucking operations. Last year, we shutdown: - 5 unsafe driver training schools - 13 fraudulent trucking companies I’m proud of the work they’re doing to help keep our roads safe.

calgarysun.com/opinion/letter… Alberta is taking action to align its healthcare system with models used in many other countries that have better health outcomes, where patients can choose how they access certain non‑emergency services. As the authors highlight: "Any argument that the Smith government’s plan will somehow create a unique system… or lead to the ‘Americanization’ of health care is simply not based in fact. These reforms will actually move Alberta towards the international norm.” The goal is simple: we need to meet Albertans where they are and expand options to help improve access to timely care.

Strong communities. Real results. From lowering unemployment and advancing major energy projects, to improving healthcare access, and investing billions into schools, infrastructure, and local priorities—Alberta’s government is focused on delivering for people. Together, we’re building momentum, creating opportunity, and strengthening the future for families across Calgary-North West and all of Alberta. #Alberta #CalgaryNorthWest #StrongerTogether #BuildingAlberta #EconomicGrowth #JobCreation #Healthcare #Education #Infrastructure #AlbertaStrong

Traceability plays a critical role in protecting animal health, maintaining market access, and reinforcing the trust that consumers and trading partners place in Alberta’s livestock sector. It’s an essential part of a modern, competitive agriculture industry. Alberta’s livestock producers are world-class, and the sector is a major driver of our economy and rural communities. As these discussions move forward, it’s important that any changes support producers, reduce unnecessary burden, and strengthen, not hinder, our ag sector. As Minister, I can assure our industry and producers that their voices are heard every step of the way. Thank you to MLA @GlennVanDijken for bringing attention to this important issue.

@RuralMA is the time to hear from communities all across the province on issues that are important to you. I was happy to answer some questions related to AI, data centres, and rural cell coverage this time around.

Joe Rogan is 100% correct: Alberta is a truly amazing place with some incredibly hardworking people! And to my friend @PierrePoilievre's point— Mr. Rogan, consider this your official invitation to come back to Alberta this summer and visit the greatest outdoor show on earth, the Calgary Stampede.

This September, Northwestern Polytechnic will open a new state-of-the-art skilled trades training centre, a major win for students, industry, and Grande Prairie. This 40,000 sq. ft. expansion will add more than 700 new skilled-trades seats across 12 programs, with expanded training in carpentry, plumbing, heavy-duty mechanics, pipefitting, welding, and automotive service, all right here at home. This is a huge win for Grande Prairie and the entire North! Our industries are growing, and this ensures we are training for the needs to keep building. This is how you grow an economy: get people trained, get them working, and get projects built. This investment is the result of strong leadership. President Dr. Vanessa Sheane, Board Chair Shawna Miller, and the Northwestern Polytechnic team have worked closely with industry, MLA Ron Wiebe, and our government to align training with real workforce needs. If you want to grow an economy, you invest in your best people. Together, we are building the workforce that will power Grande Prairie and Alberta’s future. @NWP_AB

I’m grateful to the Ponoka residents who refused to stay silent and the SCAN team for their tireless work in closing this property. This action restores the peace of mind families deserve and serves as a firm warning: if you threaten the safety of our communities with illegal activity, we will shut you down. We are restoring safety to this neighborhood and sending a clear message: criminal activity that jeopardizes public safety has no place in Alberta.

Today in the legislature, I introduced Bill 18:  The Safeguards for Last Resort Termination of Life Act.   This legislation is about strengthening safeguards and ensuring vulnerable Albertans are protected when they need care most. It is crucial that MAiD remains a last resort, not a first response.   We need a system that prioritizes dignity, support, and real options. Bill 18 is about making sure Albertans have real options and are met with compassion and protection, not steered toward a choice that should only ever be made in the most exceptional circumstances.   Hope should be easier to access than death.

Great conversations this morning at the @RuralMA Convention with rural leaders from across Alberta. We discussed how our government is advancing women’s economic participation and taking action to address gender-based violence in every corner of our province. Ensuring rural women have the opportunities, supports and safety they need to thrive in their communities remains a priority for our government.

Our government has just introduced the 'Safeguards for Last Resort Termination of Life Act' to make it clear MAID cannot be provided where mental illness is the sole underlying condition. Our goal is to strengthen protections for vulnerable Albertans and ensure MAID is not used when other care and treatment options are available. Learn more about our latest bill here: alberta.ca/release.cfm?xI…

We heard the Peace Country loud and clear — and we acted. Fairview Campus is staying open. Through a made-in-the-Peace-Country solution, Northern Lakes College will begin delivering programming at the Fairview Campus starting September 2026 — ensuring students can continue learning close to home. This means stability for learners, continued access to post-secondary education in northern Alberta, and stronger pathways into high-demand fields like skilled trades and health care. We’re working closely with partners to support current students through this transition with minimal disruption, while the community takes a leading role in shaping the campus’s long-term future. Rural Alberta matters — and so does access to education where you live. Our government remains committed to strengthening post-secondary opportunities, supporting local workforce needs, and building a strong future for communities across the province. #Fairview #PeaceCountry #ABEd #RuralAlberta #SkilledTrades #HealthCare #StrongerTogether

Wore my St. Patrick’s Day 🍀 green this morning to address more than 700 delegates from the Rural Municipalities of Alberta. We talked about Alberta’s strong economy and the major investments Budget 2026 is making in rural roads, water, schools and health care. I was pleased to provide an update that that Northern Lakes College will become the new learning provider at the Fairview Campus, securing its future for students in the Peace Country. Rural Municipalities of Alberta helps drive this province forward, and I am always grateful for the straight talk and practical leadership RMA members bring to the table.
