@FlueyKung Fans are investors? Based on what? If taxes, the individual investment is minuscule. If NIL donations, those are gifts, not investments. Players being paid does not transform fans into investors. We’re just fans. We want to win. We hope to win. We don’t have a right to win.

@udzlme The fans are now the investors. They can, do, and should expect a return on their investment. The “kid” is employed for millions to play a fucking game SHOULD expect criticism like any other employee. Don’t want the heat? Don’t take the money.

Johnson got almost $1.5M, a Cybertruck, and sponsorships. Not a “kid” anymore when you’re getting all of that.

@FlueyKung Actually, you are still a kid. A kid with a job. And, the players are acting-and being treated-like professionals…by their employer. The unprofessionalism in this situation is coming from the fans.

@Cincitucky1 Right? Them being millionaires doesn’t change the fact that they’re still kids/young adults whose brain (the prefrontal cortex) is still developing. The only thing that’s changed is fans refusing to treat them like kids/young men bc of the $ they make. Makes no sense.

I’ve seen a lot of “all the money they make they can handle criticism.” That’s just wrong. Just because someone makes a lot of money doesn’t mean you can shit on them.

@CoachPsteve Our fans-including some media members-are treating Pope like he’s an elected official who owes us complete transparency. Simply being paid w/taxpayer $ does not warrant that. It’s embarrassing it’s come to this & it’s gonna keep players & potential coaches (when needed) away.

OR, starting answering questions with questions. Media: Has UK offered any player $7-9 million? … Me: Would YOU do that? Are any players in the NCAA worth that to you? God, they’d dislike me a lot. I’d prob get fired over too many interviews like that 🤣🤣🤣

Odd for Pope to blame the media on the Yaxel story because in this case, it was actually Yaxel that said it I get frustration with reporting but in this case the story wasn’t created by the media, it was the kid He could of course, also just answered “No we didn’t”

I was listening to Ron DeSantis talk about eliminating property tax in Florida, and at first I thought, “There’s no way that works.” Then I heard the details…and it actually made a lot of sense. The idea isn’t to eliminate property tax for everyone. It would only apply to primary residences , people who live in Florida full-time. Snowbirds who come for a few months? They still pay. Businesses and commercial properties? They still pay. But, if you own your home and live there permanently, no more yearly tax just to keep what you already own. And honestly, why should you be taxed every year on something you’ve already paid for? I saw this in Sweden, property taxes are extremely low, and people can actually stay in their homes for life instead of being forced out when taxes rise. In the U.S., especially in high-tax states, retirees on fixed incomes often get priced out of their own homes. Some are paying tens of thousands a year just in property taxes. DeSantis said only about 20% of Florida property is primary residences. The rest is businesses, commercial property, and part-time residents, which makes the numbers more manageable. The big question is how local governments replace that revenue, especially in rural areas. He mentioned possible state-level revenue sharing. Personally, I think it’s a really compelling idea, and politically, it’s going to get a lot of attention. What do you think? Should homeowners pay property tax forever on their primary residence, or once you own it, should it truly be yours? Curious to hear different perspectives
