3. Appreciation to slow engagement.
Slow engagement is WAY better than fast one. People usually get tons of satisfaction out of viral posts, but believe me, thats shit. You will appreciate more posting your art and seeing you don’t have to stress bc you got 3 likes in 5h bc in 3 days you might hit 500likes, in one week it might hit 1k or more, and during that time you will see new followers, reposts, comments…
It’s a long and stable term growth, and it will depend 100% on your art quality and content.
I personally recommend be active, like and repost things you like without fear so you will enter in a niche, same category of those creators you like.
4. Use external sites like Reddit. The way I started my career was there, posting cool and attractive fanart on fan reddits pages and linking them to ig and twitter.
At first you will have to appeal to fans and little by little you will be able to do more of your own!
5. Places like ig (I’m talking about ig more bc it’s the one giving me best results so far) gives you more art lovers, bc the audience is completely different to twitter (here is way more general) so 1k likes there can be 3 new clients, while here you need 20k to find those. I’m not saying it’s a perfect place but it’s significantly better right now.
6. I feel people there respect more (so far) creativity/creators/quality work, so the atmosphere is more healthy when you see the comment section, your own and others.
This is an example of slow engagement. Your posts will be generally traction over time, all of them, the more you post, the more these numbers (I didn’t post in almost 3 days and i see this every time i check ig:
