@paulsingh I remember Andrew Capland / PLG guy talking about doing this at Wistia. He said it was painful but progressive. Learned loads.

I'm so sad. Not in the teary way, but in the "gets excited about building a database" kinda way. This database of cloud software/services partners, to build up a perspective over time... not only to answer today's questions, but to enable new kinds of questions.

Did you know this about @AWS_Partners? There are 682 AWS partners in the UK... ...but only 384 are HQ'd in the UK... ...and 49% of those are software or consulting partners... ...and only 10% are using @awsmarketplace? What does this mean? Wrong answers only!

Been working on #python and @ScrapyProject. A week of manual scraping, seeing the data change in front of me! As a Yorkshireman, I love efficiency ;-), but I'm a 30 yr IT guy and don't rush to automation. You gotta cross the river feeling the pebbles with your feet, first.

Why are so few UK @AWS_Partners on the @awsmarketplace? It's about 10%. Massive upside. But it's not easy. There's history. There are barriers. But there is a way forward.

Founders: Don't give early employees inflated titles. In 2011 I joined GoInstant (which was acquired by Salesforce) and asked for the Chief Product Officer title. I got VP Product. I was disappointed at first, but I completely get it.
