BREAKING: Another major victory for Nigerian troops as Operation HADIN KAI foils coordinated terrorist attacks in Yobe, eliminating over 20 insurgents in a fierce overnight battle. Troops of the Joint Task Force in Goniri, under Sector 2 of OPHK, successfully repelled a multi-directional assault launched by ISWAP terrorists between the night of Monday, March 9, and the early hours of Tuesday, March 10, 2026. The terrorists were detected early through surveillance assets as they advanced from Goniri village and the Ngamdu junction axis in an apparent attempt to surround the military position. In response, the vigilant and gallant troops engaged with superior firepower, tactical precision, and strong defensive coordination, preventing the attackers from gaining ground. Reinforcements were quickly deployed, while the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI delivered timely close air support that further shattered the terrorists’ fighting capacity. The coordinated response forced the insurgents into a chaotic retreat, leaving behind heavy casualties. Among those neutralised was Abu Yusu, the Munzir of Dursula, alongside more than 20 other terrorists. Troops also recovered multiple machine guns, AK-47 rifles, IEDs, bombs, and assorted ammunition abandoned during the failed attack. Follow-up clearance operations in Gwaigomari within the Timbuktu Triangle uncovered additional terrorist bodies, underscoring the scale of the defeat inflicted. This is yet another clear demonstration of the courage, resilience, and operational dominance of Nigerian troops in the fight against terrorism.
