There used to be some class and quality about English TV debates. Doordarshan English news, and channels in 90s ( all politics aside ) used to have conversations where we as kids could learn something. Learn new words, oratory, speaking styles, English as a language, etc. Listen to this here. Forget the dumb take on whole Issue, - guys, like, boss, ..it’s so informal that feels like two people are gossiping on road. One can defend that it’s some format. But this format is visible in all formats. Where do you see calm meaningful debates except maybe CNNNews18? We watch these debates to learn, know, stay updated etc. Indian audience really deserves better than college canteen chatter.
