@UltraLinx If I would see these on a previously unknown channel or a channel obviously selling out, I will assume the thumbnail is AI and make sure to never, ever click on one of their videos. No matter how good you think your slop looks, it's worth 1000x less than a paint drawing.

Working on a new thing and needed thumbnails. Had my team cook these up. AI image generation has got good fast.

The way I see it, a home is more than an investment, it's place of belonging, it's peace of mind and even better if it is paid off, a cool off period from income is not gonna give you stroke or brain haemorrhage from lack of ability of not being able to keep up with such commitments as rents. Investment and business is not a guarantee, I know houses can suffer from natural disaster but what are the chances of it being irrecoverable besides, you will still have the land to rebuild on. Creating a false sense of security over guaranteed income and buying time on that basis, forget about appreciation or depreciation either way you look at it 1 million dollars projection over 10 year is same as 200k over 2 years 500k on a decent house over a 10 year term is 50k a year and less than 5k a month, that's for life! Saves money too and you can still invest, Besides being self employed is not be all end all, there is always a work around. But each to their own, whatever rocks your boat.

My rent is $9k a month. I need to tweet a lot more.

Moved out of my parents home and bought my first home nearly 10 years ago now. Moving out was probably the best life decision I ever made. The character development you go through is unmatched. You have to grow up fast. Would recommend.

@Macrike @CZXzbt Can’t get interest in my current situation being self employed and only in Dubai for 2 years. And it’s only the best leverage if you think the homes are going up in value. Not currently the case in Dubai. Glad I didn’t buy earlier this year.

@UltraLinx @CZXzbt An interest-only mortgage is the best form of leverage in existence. It makes no financial sense to pay off someone else’s mortgage when you can be paying off your own. Renting only makes sense if you want/need flexibility. Otherwise, you’re burning money (chump change or not).

You’re telling me that within a decade you would have paid over 1million in rent. What a dumb stupid idea. You could get a 500k or a million $ mortage and pay 4000k a month even if you have to pay taxes in a country where it is possible to not have to rent but get a decent mortgage, the maths works out!

Someone who gets it! It’s also 5 bedroom and 6 bathrooms over three floors, and I’ve turned the top floor in to my studio. It’s well worth it.
