Typically, on a blockchain, transaction details are public! Shielded transactions are more like normal payments, keeping those details confidential. You choose who sees them. This is enabled by Sapling, a privacy-preserving protocol on @tezos first created by the @Zcash devs.

@Cryptovet13 @LabosNomades The issue here for us: that is not purely a wallet solution--it would likely involve a service that issues a new NFT... like a Proof-of-Attendance. We're hopeful that DApp developers will fill the gap between what's possible with wallets and what's needed by event planning.
