Announcing: "Preparing Blockchains for the Post-Quantum Era" with Arthur Breitman (@ArthurB) at the Core Protocol track.
Quantum computers aren't science fiction anymore, and the protocols we build today need to survive tomorrow's computing reality.
📣 Foundry is now compatible with Etherlink.
A compatibility issue affecting [forge script --broadcast] on Etherlink Shadownet has been resolved thanks to @AntonyMassilia an Engineer at @LabosNomades.
The fix has been merged into [alloy-chains], a core dependency of the framework, making it easier for developers to deploy with Foundry on Etherlink.
The introduction of enshrined liquid staking would happen in two phases tied to two separate protocol proposals. The purpose is to carefully validate the mechanism and gather community feedback.
Heads up! In the U proposal, we aim to start testing enshrined liquid staking for Tezos.
Users can deposit XTZ and receive sTEZ, a tradeable token that accrues value from staking rewards.
Fully decentralized, automated by the protocol, with fair stake distribution among bakers.
For Safari users, the fix is the following:
1️⃣ Disconnect your wallet from the dApp
2️⃣ Clear the site's localStorage:
a. Open Safari and go to Safari > Settings (or Preferences).
b. Click on the Privacy tab.
c. Click the Manage Website Data... button.
d. Search for the website in the search bar.
e. Select the website and click Remove.
f. Click Done.
3️⃣ Reconnect the wallet
Beacon will auto-select the updated nodes. ✅

2️⃣ Clear the site's localStorage:
a. Open the website where the issue occurs.
b. Click the lock icon to the left of the address in the address bar.
c. Open Site settings → Cookies and site data.
d. Click Clear data or Delete stored data.
e. Reload the page.

🧵 Beacon connection issues — quick update for builders and users
Some users may still experience Beacon connection errors on certain Tezos dApps.
Here's why and how to fix it. 👇
(1/5)
We’re sharing an approach to simplify on-chain governance in the Tezos protocol, intended for inclusion in a future protocol proposal.
The goal: faster, more nimble governance, simpler for bakers to manage, without compromising safety guarantees or decentralized decision-making.
We performed a scheduled security upgrade on Octez.connect & Beacon infrastructure, jointly with @trilitech & @papersDev, to address reported relay servers vulnerabilities.
User funds were always safe, and services are now fully restored.
📣 Octez version 24.2 has just been released!
v24.2 fixes two minor bugs that can cause the Octez node to fall behind in some specific deployment scenarios.
If your node is struggling to keep up with the chain on mainnet, we recommend upgrading to v24.2.
We’re well into February now, and you can feel the tempo picking up. This week on The Baking Sheet previews another feature for the upcoming U protocol upgrade, IRL events, and practical tools that expand what builders can build.
Let's get into it.
