My sons and daughters, my brothers and sisters, citizens and residents of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Muslims everywhere: Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. All praise is due to Allah who says in His Noble Book: “And for you to complete the prescribed period and to glorify Allah for that to which He has guided you, and perhaps you will be grateful.” We thank Him, the Exalted, for enabling us to fast and stand in prayer during Ramadan. Brothers and sisters, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has made diligent efforts to support peace in the world, including its positions regarding the unfortunate events affecting our region. This comes as a continuation of the Kingdom’s firm approach in containing crises and preserving security and stability in the region and the world. I’m pleased to see that President Trump appears to have listened to our concerns back in November and worked with the Nigerian government rather than acting unilaterally. The US airstrikes reportedly took place in Sokoto State, suggesting they targeted the Lakurawa group, which has become increasingly lethal. Strikes against the group are a welcome development, as they can help degrade its leadership and logistical capacity. This is especially positive given that the operation was carried out with the consent and cooperation of the Nigerian government.

Pray for Kebbi Girls

“Ya Allah, protect the 25 students abducted in Maga, Kebbi State. Bring them home safely and comfort their families. Shield all our children from harm and guide our leaders to secure our schools and prevent such tragedies. Surround our nation with peace and mercy. Ameen.”

The #FGN must protect schools with the same seriousness given to Government Houses. The abduction of 25 students in Maga, Kebbi State shows how unsafe our children are. Teachers are being killed, students kidnapped. Govt must enforce strong security in all schools now.
