@tarmo888 @tomwarren Not exactly because secure boot lets you enroll own keys and sign your boot chain to pass the check. But it does give you access to fTPM endorsement key checks, and you can use these to deal effective hardware bans.

@tomwarren What a dumb take. Secure Boot, TPM and VBS are not kernel-level anti-cheat, they prevent boot-time cheat loaders by ensuring system integrity.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 launches today with a TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot requirement, and Microsoft says it expects more games to require the same and even “advanced protections such as VBS.” I’m expecting more devs to move anti-cheat out of the kernel and rely on Windows tech
