Ahmedabad is not a sporting city, it never has been. That’s why every time there’s a final played there, more than 50% crowd is from outside the city. There’s no sporting culture, vibe. Just making the largest stadium might bring you gate revenues but it doesn’t bring you support or success for India.

There just aren't any takers for most of the graduates outside of a few branches. IITs are putting out 700-800 graduates across branches like Civil, Chemical, Materials science and others every year, but there is just no demand for these graduates except for low paying screwdrivergiri jobs more appropriate for diploma holders. What will you achieve by making them sign a bond? IITs have also hiked fees significantly and the taxpayer outlay on students is going down every year. But the other side of the equation is that IIT grads pay significant amount in taxes. That more than makes up for whatever they govt has spent on them.
