Touch on some real issues (economy, healthcare), link them to reactionary talking points (borders, defence, national pride), blame them on minoritised and mostly silenced communities (Muslims trans people), ignore power so as to strengthen the status quo

Or maybe the SNP motion reflects their long-held position about the need for a ceasefire? Maybe it's actually about the Palestinians who have called for international solidarity. Maybe Labour could have put forward their own motion given they have 7x the number of opposition days

I think the “extremely loaded term” is awkward because acknowledging genocide would trigger a lot of extremely punitive measures that American will not take, not least because its government is deeply complicit.
