There is a difference between being liked as an individual and being liked as a useful tool. A misogynistic man can like a woman for pleasure, house chores, bearing children, etc. He only likes her as a tool because of what she does/can do for him and not as a person. The moment that woman decides to live life as an individual—as she ought to, the hatred in the heart of man jumps out. A man who is against your personal growth and self actualisation doesn’t love you. He may even be “romantic” if that romance robs you of autonomy and self actualisation. He may stay with you because you’re “useful”. But he doesn’t love you! If all he does for you ends up leading to what he wants and his own benefit, it’s not love. You are to be loved as an individual, not a tool. These things show up in conversations, body language and subtle actions. May God give us all wisdom.

@_LargeProfessor Omo the things I’ve seen here from certain accounts Dey mind blowing. They’ve turned around to spin Nigerians as moralists when the same Nigerians unanimously rooting for him. So we can’t question him when he’s moving funny. It is well

So for the past 5 years where everybody was clearly rooting for Tunde, we were not "idealistic moralists", but questioning what looks like pure image laundry is what makes us that? Let's say we're just skeptics, what proof is there that this new partnership has been helpful?

Do you know what the main problem is with you folks and shite arguments like this? You are treating these children simply as symbols of governmental failure rather than as human beings with present, immediate needs. It is also evident most of you do not know how NGOs and Civil societies work. For example, you cannot simply walk up to a public school and start handing out incentives to pupils without due permission from the Ministry of Education. If you also try to antagonize the government, your efforts will be utterly frustrated. You will go on to condemn Tunde for compromising while you remain morally spotless but also entirely useless to the children in question. You want to keep them under the bridge, theoretically, so the bridge can function as an indictment of the state. Do you actually think you are more righteous by performing outrage on social media? Listen, the children under the bridge are already there. The question is not philosophical anymore. They are hungry, undereducated, exposed to violence, and statistically on their way to lives you hypocrites will later lament. If he leaves these children right now and start supporting your candidate, will this immediately destroy all the slums in Lagos State? All of you using these children's suffering as rhetorical ammunition against someone trying to address that suffering directly, I want to ask you plainly now: What exactly are you proposing instead, and when does it begin?

I hate when you’re trying to love someone the healthy way, but they keep triggering a version of you that you worked hard to outgrow.

There’s a peculiar kind of Nigerian thinking where everything must be zero sum. To compliment A, we must first show how much better it is than B. You don’t sufficiently love B, unless you simultaneously signal how terrible A is compared to it. It’s like we can only think from a lens of competition, rivalry and scarcity. It is an incredibly poor way to see the world and it is one of our biggest challenges as a people.

Voting Peter obi is step 1/100000 in the right direction and Nigerians can't even agree on that, you're contending with powers greater than you can imagine Forces that benefit greatly from your dysfunction, the system needs an overhaul. The country must be rebuilt or divided.

I will say this… Take what people say less seriously. Most are talking from a place of trauma. Joyce has changed her perspective because she’s dating a guy she likes. But post 2021/22. She was vile and her entire personality rested on how she can’t be with a man who isn’t popping bottles. Most young girls were here clocking it. I hope they clock this too

@uncle_finesse @MeghanEMurphy @laughingman6912 @Msgland Not sure what is problematic about what I just wrote. I just find it bizarre to assign an emotion to a stranger or a person that might not even be a person. We should all think about eachother a lot less. But if she's engagement farming, I reckon the problem is duplicitous.

Considering the amount of women I know who’ve gone through divorces and come out the other end, I feel 100% affirmed in my choice to not marry. Not-all-women, of course, but most are happier post-divorce and were unhappy-to-miserable in their marriages. I do understand the purpose of marriage—for the kids—but in general it doesn’t seem to make women happy so much as unhappy, stressed, and often kind of traumatized… I realize this is a gauche thing to say, considering the heterodox pro-marriage wave, but I think it’s generally true… Marriage just isn’t often an enjoyable or beneficial arrangement for many women…
