I’m confused, because I thought The Deep’s power set was supposed to be at least somewhat similar to Aquaman’s. So why was he swimming slow as molasses like a regular dude fighting the current? And isn’t he supposed to have some kind of telepathic connection with sea life, or at least be able to command fish in some capacity? I don’t know, maybe I’m overthinking it, but this feels less like a power-scaling issue and more like lazy writing. Because if his whole gimmick is ocean-based abilities, then making him look useless in the water makes absolutely no sense. WTF.
