This one is almost mainstream in story, blending a revenge tale with body horror - but it's also still a film by Shinya Tsukamoto, which in turn of course means this is nothing like mainstream, there's some crazy imagery up there, some (often mental) perversion, plenty of shock moments that defy mere jump scares - so for all those who are looking for horror from the weird side of things, this is pretty much a must-see. searchmytrash.com/movies/tetsuot…

Now Legion of the Dead is not a film without precedence, from Dust Devil for its road movie approach to horror and general location to From Dusk Till Dawn for its finale and tone to Dogma for its humour and religious allusions, but that's not to say Legion of the Dead is just a copycat movie but rather pretty cool genre entertainment in its own right, a film with enough violence and gore to satisfy any hardcore horror fan but also plenty of comedy to cross over to more mainstream territory and even plenty of heart. searchmytrash.com/movies/legiono…

@DanielHood4 The problem is they are pretty niche but someone like @Unearthedfilms could do a lovely set and they have released quite a few Japanese titles so would have experience getting the rights. Plus they have no issues with gorefests either.
