This is why it's good to rtfm... Lower viscosity oil is for cooler climates, less aggressive driving. Regardless, as mileage increases some manuals recommend a higher viscosity

Just saw a video with a “mechanic” out here recommending to use an oil that the vehicle is not recommended to use. The vehicle states 0W-20 but he is recommending the client to use 5W-40 because of the “climate”. If your mechanic says something like that, stop going to them.
