Good news! The Unipept database has just been updated to use UniProt 2023.04 instead (coming from UniProt 2023.03) 🎉

Because of this upgrade, Unipept's database has been updated to UniProt 2023.3 (from 2021.3) and is available for all applications. Should you encounter any issues, please contact us at unipept@ugent.be

Reference databases are build and queried on your local machine. This means that you are in full control of the database being used, sensitive data no longer needs to be sent over the internet, and analysis performance is improved.

@ShevanWilkin If the sequence is in @uniprot we should have it. If you could send a bit more information to unipept@ugent.be, we can try to help you figure out what goes wrong.

For proteomics people: does anyone know why @unipept doesn’t include goat (Capra) in their database?

All changes can be checked out at github.com/unipept/unipep…. Existing installations will automatically be updated to the latest version the next time the app is restarted.

3. If you decide to close the application while an analysis is still in progress, it will automatically resume if you reopen the application later.

We have just published version 1.2.5 of our Unipept Desktop application which improves the robustness of the metaproteomics analysis. 🎉 The most important changes are listed in this thread.🧵

Quick heads-up: we fixed a server-side configuration issue that caused our Unipept Desktop app to come back with an empty set of results. This issue should be resolved now. Please reload / recreate your project if the issue persists. Thank you for understanding.
