Trending News: Ghana has officially exited the IMF bailout programme after successfully concluding the negotiations on the Extended Credit Facility (ECF) agreement with the IMF. For me personally, this is a testament to the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama. The discipline and integrity of the approach to economic governance have been phenomenal. Regular meetings with the IMF and the leaders of the implementing authorities of Ghana’s economic policy have paid good dividends. Let me commend, my brothers, the Finance Minister @AtoCassielForson, the Governor of the Central Bank, and the good people of Ghana for the confidence you have all reposed in the leadership of @JDMahama and all the other experts working assiduously on stabilising the economy. For me a stable economy and a consistent currency are two of the most valuable qualities of a healthy economy and so far Ghana is doing well. Kudos to government. #Ghana #MahamaThePresident

This achievement is a significant, a signal of returning confidence, stability, and investor belief in the economy. Under President John Dramani Mahama, Ghana is steadily rebuilding trust, attracting capital, and proving that disciplined leadership can restore momentum and hope.

Chief e small but it’s a process ooo. The minister made it clear that this time round he doesn’t want to employ anyone without having money ready for their salary. I believe this is just a start point. More clearance will come as indicated 🙌 Cnt wait to have u join me😆 we will do magic 🪄 together 🤝

If Ghanaians don't eat stability, they equally don't eat instability. But as a Ghanaian I will choose stability over instability thus choosing NDC over NPP. Choose right. Kudos to BOG governor Dr Asiamah, his directors, Dr Ato Forson and the NDC. #AbanPapaAba

Well said—but how I wish Dr. Bawumia had shown this same courage and clarity when his own government presided over rendering the people of SALL stateless for nearly five years. Not a single word of apology then. Not even an acknowledgment, even if his party had decided they would never say sorry. It is deeply ironic to see him now championing free speech and condemning state intimidation, when his administration remained silent while citizens were stripped of their very identity and belonging. The NPP’s silence then was as damaging as the NDC’s actions now. Ghana’s democracy suffers when any government—past or present—abuses power or looks away. Dr. Bawumia is right to call out the present wrongs, but justice demands consistency. The patriots he now rallies remember those who were abandoned under his watch. Accountability cannot be selective. If he truly believes in a day of reckoning for abuse of state power, let that day also review the NPP’s own record. The fight for democracy must include the courage to look backward, not only forward.

At almost 70 years since independence, Ghana has just started to assert its sovereignty over its own mineral resources and is seeking to reclaim its sovereignty from some foreign investors. Nobody says that foreign investment is bad per se, and nobody says that we are banning foreign investments; all that we are saying is that we now have local companies that have built their capacity and capabilities over time and are able to better manage some of these minerals for the betterment of our country. It is heartwarming that some very influential people are wading into this debate and supporting the government to allow for local indigenous businesses to invest in our mineral resources. After almost 70 years, we can at least reasonably afford to test our ability to manage and maintain sovereignty over some of these interests. The question is whether we can continue to build on where the others have left off, and that should be the litmus test. #ActaNonVerba
