I was studying in North eastern Nigeria and usually visited home(Ibadan) once in a year for vacation, my 2010 vacation I noticed her in my area as new face. I usually have eyes for slim, not light ladies, then I started stalking her, she was in SS3. No real chance for communication. Few days to my return to school, I had her contact and we talk once a while. During Boko haram incident that communication network was cut off In Maiduguri, it was difficult to reach her and when I eventually did, every blessed day that we talked, she would treat it as if we never spoke before. But as a fine boy with girls everywhere, I got furious about her behavior coz then I could get down with any girl u wanted(as a local champion) and was determined to get her.
I came back June 2011 and this time was my IT, had real chance to talk to her, I went straight to her house and presented myself as responsible young guy and friend, that courage I think was my first magical moment. I met her dad whom asked about my background and realized knowing my parents well. He then told their how confident he was about me, so I was allowed to talk to her anytime.
All started at that point, there were Ups and Downs though, officially started dating January 2012, until we got married January 2019.
I also gave her direct access to come my house whenever she felt was right, though a lot of kids don’t like coming coz my mum was a disciplinarian (mama teacher) but she summoned courage one day after my mum sees us together several times outside.

@gamerwalt I genuinely see strength in parents raising autistic children. The patience, love, and consistency it takes is on another level. I commend you.
You’re doing something truly admirable, and it doesn’t go unnoticed. I commend you

It is very much controlled by our government through NNPC. Here is one thing people miss:
When we pump oil in Nigeria, the government does not do it alone. They operate in joint ventures with foreign companies such Shell, Chevron, and others. So right from the oil well, the crude is shared between Nigeria and these companies.
Now, out of the share that belongs to the Nigerian government, a huge chunk is already tied down. We have used our crude oil to secure international loans over the years. We also have forward contracts where we have sold the oil before it is even pumped just to get quick cash for the country to survive.
By the time NNPC looks at the free crude they have left in their hands, it is not enough to feed Dangote's high daily demand. That is why they can only commit to that 30% I talked about earlier.
The government controls the oil, but our heavy debts and financial commitments over the years mean our hands are tied on how we can use it.
English

@YusufAsunmogejo So, our oil now is not even being controlled by our Government,
Since when has this been happening

This is a very valid question Habeeb, and it confuses a lot of people. We have the biggest refinery in Africa sitting right here in Lagos, so it feels like fuel should be cheap.
I want you to think of a refinery like a big kitchen. To make pounded yam, you still need to buy the raw yam. Dangote owns the refinery, but he does not own the oil wells. A lot of people assume the government gives him all the crude he needs; however, reports say NNPC only caters to about 30% of his daily requirement.
This means he has to source the remaining 70% from the international market. This is where global wars and tensions affect us directly. Whenever there is a major conflict, global crude prices shoot up. As of today, crude oil is sitting at around $110 per barrel, and Dangote is buying his raw material at this very high global price.
To make things heavier, crude oil is strictly sold in US Dollars. Imagine buying a raw material at $110 per barrel and paying for it with our current Naira exchange rate. The cost of producing one litre of petrol is already enormous before it even leaves the gate in Ibeju-Lekki.
Having the refinery is a huge win because it saves us the high cost of shipping refined fuel from Europe. But because the raw material itself is a global commodity, as long as crude oil is expensive globally and our Naira is weak against the Dollar, fuel will remain pricey unless the government subsidises it, which I don't think the President wants to do.
I hope this helps you understand the situation better.
Habeeb@Abeeb78
@YusufAsunmogejo You're right sir can you please explain that of fuel high price too why we have Dangote refinery and this is still happening and how the war is affecting us....

Pages of the Glorious Qur'ān today, Friday 27/3/26. Sūrah al-Baqarah (2): 25-37, Tafakkur verse 2: 26
Theme: The Mosquitoe is one of tht great signs of Allah
{۞ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا یَسۡتَحۡیِۦۤ أَن یَضۡرِبَ مَثَلࣰا مَّا بَعُوضَةࣰ فَمَا فَوۡقَهَاۚ فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ فَیَعۡلَمُونَ أَنَّهُ ٱلۡحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّهِمۡۖ وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ فَیَقُولُونَ مَاذَاۤ أَرَادَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَـٰذَا مَثَلࣰاۘ یُضِلُّ بِهِۦ كَثِیرࣰا وَیَهۡدِی بِهِۦ كَثِیرࣰاۚ وَمَا یُضِلُّ بِهِۦۤ إِلَّا ٱلۡفَـٰسِقِینَ}
*Indeed, Allāh is not timid to present an example - that of a mosquito or what is smaller than it. And those who have believed know that it is the truth from their Lord. But as for those who disbelieve, they say, What did Allāh intend by this as an example? He misleads many thereby and guides many thereby. And He misleads not except the defiantly disobedient".
LESSONS:
1. Nothing in Creation is Insignificant: Allah chooses even a mosquito, an organism often dismissed, as an example. This teaches that nothing in creation is too small to reflect divine power.
🔸Scientifically, the mosquito is astonishing:
🔸It possesses highly specialized mouthparts capable of piercing skin with precision.
🔸It detects heat, carbon dioxide, and body odor with remarkable sensitivity.
🔸Its tiny body houses complex biological systems far beyond human engineering at that scale.
What humans consider insignificant may carry immense signs (āyāt) of Allah’s perfection.
2. Divine Knowledge Encompasses the Seen and Unseen: The verse subtly invites reflection on what is “smaller than it”, a phrase that expands our thinking beyond the visible.
🔸Modern discoveries reveal:
🔸Microorganisms living within mosquitoes.
🔸Complex life cycles from egg → larva → pupa → adult.
Allah’s mention anticipates realities that humans only later uncover, affirming that His knowledge encompasses layers of existence beyond human perception.
Revelation nurtures intellectual humility, there is always more beyond what we currently know.
3. Guidance and Misguidance Depend on the Heart, Not the Sign: The same example leads to two opposite reactions:
🔸Believers recognize truth and deepen their īmān.
🔸Disbelievers mock and question its relevance.
The mosquito becomes a test of perception:
🔸A reflective heart sees divine wisdom.
🔸A resistant heart sees triviality.
The issue is not in the sign but in the state of the heart receiving it.
4. Precision in Creation Reflects Absolute Power: The mosquito demonstrates astonishing precision:
🔸Its proboscis contains multiple micro-structures that minimize pain while extracting blood.
🔸It releases substances that keep blood flowing.
🔸Its wings operate with remarkable speed and efficiency.
Such intricate design at a microscopic level points to intentional creation and perfect control.
The smaller the creature, the more evident the subtlety and perfection of divine creation.
5. Moral Rebellion Leads to Misguidance: The verse concludes by clarifying that Allah does not mislead arbitrarily, “He misleads not except the defiantly disobedient.”
This connects reflection on creation with spiritual accountability:
🔸Those who approach signs with sincerity are guided.
🔸Those who persist in corruption and arrogance are led further away from truth.
Just as people dismiss the mosquito as insignificant, many dismiss clear signs of truth while claiming righteousness.
Misguidance is not imposed, it is the result of deliberate moral and spiritual choices.
The mosquito, though tiny, becomes a gateway to understanding the greatness of Allah. It teaches us that:
🔸Creation is meaningful at every scale.
🔸Knowledge is layered and ever-expanding.
🔸Faith depends on humility and reflection.
🔸Divine power is evident in precision.
🔸Guidance is tied to sincerity and obedience.
Thus, what appears small in size becomes immense in significance, and this is from the profound eloquence of the Qur’ān.

Pages of the Glorious Qur'ān today, Thursday 26/3/26, Sūrah al-Baqarah (2): 6-24, tafakkur verse 2: 11
Theme: False claim of Reform and Civilization will never turn evil to good
{وَإِذَا قِیلَ لَهُمۡ لَا تُفۡسِدُوا۟ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ قَالُوۤا۟ إِنَّمَا نَحۡنُ مُصۡلِحُونَ}
"And when it is said to them, Do not cause corruption on the earth, they say, We are but reformers".
LESSONS:
1. Evil Often Disguises Itself as Good: This verse exposes a timeless reality: corruption is often carried out under the banner of reform. Those who spread chaos, injustice, and oppression rarely admit wrongdoing; instead, they cloak their actions in noble language, such as “peacekeeping,” “security,” “development,” or “liberation.”
In today’s world, many global powers justify wars, invasions, and political interference as efforts to “restore order” or “protect democracy,” while in reality, they leave behind destruction, instability, and suffering.
2. Propaganda Is a Tool of Oppression: The statement “We are but reformers” reflects deliberate narrative control. Corrupt forces invest heavily in shaping public perception, using media, diplomacy, and influence to present oppression as justice.
This teaches us that not every widely accepted narrative is truthful. A believer must develop discernment and not be deceived by polished rhetoric or international approval.
3. Corruption Includes Political and Economic Exploitation: Corruption on earth is not limited to personal wrongdoing; it includes systemic injustice such as:
🔸Unjust wars and killings
🔸Regime destabilization for strategic interests
🔸Exploitation of natural resources (like oil theft)
🔸Economic manipulation that impoverishes nations
Such actions, even when framed as “global cooperation” or “economic partnership,” fall under the Qur’ānic condemnation of corruption.
4. Self-Deception Is the Beginning of Greater Corruption: One of the most dangerous aspects of this verse is that such people may convince themselves of their righteousness. When individuals or nations believe they are justified in oppression, they lose the moral restraint that could have stopped them.
This applies to influential leaders, policymakers, and elites who normalize injustice and no longer see the harm they cause.
5. True Reform Is Defined by Justice, Not Power: The verse teaches that true reform is not defined by authority, dominance, or influence, but by alignment with justice, truth, and divine guidance.
Any action that leads to:
🔸loss of innocent lives,
🔸destruction of lands,
🔸oppression of the weak,
🔸cannot be called reform, no matter how it is presented.
A believer must measure all claims of “reform” against the principles of the Qur’ān and Sunnah, not against political narratives.
This verse is not merely historical; it is a mirror for every age. It calls us to:
🔸see beyond appearances,
🔸question unjust systems,
🔸and stand firmly for truth.
For indeed, as Allah clarifies in the next verse: “Unquestionably, it is they who are the corrupters, but they perceive it not.” (Qur’ān 2:12)
