While almost the entire Sunni Muslim world, including Saudi Arabia, the self-proclaimed custodians of Makkah and Madina, bows in submission to America, it was the leader of the only Shia majority country who stood his ground and paid for it with his life. Ayatollah Khamenei was martyred in an Israeli-American attack, a man who most Sunni leaders would not even truly consider Muslim. And yet he died standing & they live kneeling everyday! Only Allah is the judge of a man’s Iman. But history will judge the rest of them. And today, that distinction has never been more heartbreakingly clear!

This man sacrificed himself to bring attention to the genocide in Gaza. He could have backed out at anytime, but he didn't because he felt the awareness he was bringing mattered more than his life. "I am about to engage in an extreme act of protest, but compared to what people have been experiencing in Palestine at the hands of their colonizers, it's not extreme at all." Aaron Bushnell was a true hero and soldier. He died fighting for the freedom of others. That is the ultimate sacrifice our soldiers make. Instead of acknowledging and honoring that, republicans turned him into a joke and mocked him. I hope he's at peace now, and I hope he knows that what he did will never be forgotten by the real patriots.
