Important info for anyone planning to visit us over the festive period...

It’s almost time for a new academic year to begin. If you’re thinking about getting a head start with all things library, but have a question you want to ask… I’m your penguin! *waits for a flurry of enquiries to happen*

Interesting... interesting... got to keep up with the tech and the debates around it even if they start to make my head spin. But can I take this opportunity to reassure everyone that I am a very real cuddly penguin in a very real library. Nothing artificial about me! 🐧

It's a lovely day in Portsmouth, but if you prefer some cool shade to work in we're open for all your study needs.

The @UoPlibrary is currently closed while work is carried out to resolve power supply issues. Alternative study spaces are available (see our website for details) and library staff are online to answer your questions. Use our chat service or email us and we’ll be happy to help.

As we approach the end of the academic year, it’s all too easy to feel rising panic about things like referencing. Don’t give in to it - pop over to our online chat, send us an email, or drop in and ask us those awkward questions. We are totally #heretohelp!

Oh dear... I'm a silly penguin. I totally forgot to add the hashtag #CookieTheCareersElf to this thread... please forgive me Cookie!!!

I'd momentarily forgotten that we have another photocopier in the staff area... oh dear. Well, I guess it *is* nearly Christmas...

At this point, to avoid any disasters, I took Cookie back to the staff office. I showed him where our Duty Librarians sit, and pointed out our extra cleaning materials for safety. I think he was more interested in our collection for the reverse advent calendar though.

A special visitor came to spend the day with me today! Cookie is an elf, and he's part of the @UoPCareers team. The first thing we had to sort out was his lack of a mask... then the fun could begin!
