They didn't have a cure they had a life that didn't require one constant movement, physical work, purpose, community built into every single day we removed all of that replaced it with screens, sitting, isolation and processed food then acted surprised when our minds started breaking down we don't need more medication we need to rebuild the conditions humans were designed to live in.

5. The reset is slow and uncomfortable most people won't do it because the discomfort of the process feels worse than the numbness they're already in but the only way back to feeling normal life again is through the hard part the beauty of an ordinary day is still there you've just stopped being able to feel it

4. Name what you're feeling instead of numbing it the emptiness, the flatness, the "what's the point" that's not depression that's a reward system that's been overstimulated for too long you're not broken you're overstimulated

3. Start doing things that don't give you an instant reward exercise, walking, cooking, building something anything that requires effort before it pays off your brain needs to relearn that slow rewards are worth waiting for

Anhedonia is the next EPIDEMIC nobody is talking about your reward system gets pushed so high that normal life stops feeling like anything so you chase more and every time you do the baseline drops lower most people medicate instead of resetting but medication pushes that threshold even higher until the meds stop working and you're left unable to feel anything at all that's where the suicide rates are coming from.

Yes but not the way most people expect it took months of choosing action over avoidance doing something positive every single day little or big without waiting to feel like it you don't feel your way into recovery you act your way into it one day you look back and realise you finally feel alive again.
